Trans activists smoke bomb protest the metro

Jim Waterson
@jimwaterson
Trans activists have set off smoke bombs outside the entrance to Northcliffe House, HQ of the Daily Mail/Metro/Independent. Unclear if they're protesting against the Mail - or the Metro taking the advert last week - but staff leaving by side entrance.

Consensus seems to be they're protesting against The Metro, which took an anti-trans ad last week. Unfortunately Metro print edition staff don't work Fridays. (The entirely separate Metro website has also had some trouble over the sister paper taking the ad, apparently.)

I hope the anti terror squad throw the fucking book at them. They are REALLY not going to be impressed.

It's surprising what people are allergic to. My friend once ended up in hospital because a party popper went off too close to her. Her face and airways swelled massively.

BlackeyedGruesome · 19/10/2018 20:42

don't forget the bomb threat and police finding some sort of explosive?

ohello · 19/10/2018 20:43

This is narcissistic rage and it will get worse before it gets better. Be safe out there!

flyingmonkeysdenied.com/2015/11/12/why-the-narcissistic-cycle-of-abuse-inevitably-comes-full-circle/

The idea of these people dumped into women's prisons just chills me to my bones.

AspieAndProud · 19/10/2018 20:45

India Willoughby knows fine fucking well it was the TRAs who did it given that the plans for it are there for all to see. She sounds downright emotionally abusive and gaslighty.

It’s Tara Wolf and ‘I’m going to fuck up some t**fs’ again. Even though they publicly announce their attentions beforehand it’s still never their fault.

Next they’ll be saying the masked smoke bombers spoke with Moss Side accents and had gender critical leaflets poking out of their pockets.

HelenaDove · 19/10/2018 20:49

I dont understand why nothing is being done about them planning to do this in the first place.

Given that two young lads were arrested for just threatening to riot on Facebook in the wake of the 2011 riots.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 19/10/2018 20:52

Becuase the cards are stacked in their favour, Someone in a very high position in parliment is pulling the strings to get the GRA reforms through.
We have been told as much.

DuckingGoodPJs · 19/10/2018 20:52

A fairly terrifying event for those in the building - smoke bombs AND white dudes dancing out the front. The latter pushing it right over the edge.

Turph · 19/10/2018 20:52

DuckingGoodPJs
Is that some kind of woke joke?

IFeelSorryForMillie · 19/10/2018 20:56

has anyone reported them for incitement? sent screen shots to the relevant authorities?

silentcrow · 19/10/2018 20:58

The sentence for these offences can be as much as three months in prison

Ah, but which prison? Hmm

Excellent information, AspieAndProud, thank you (glad we never got caught back in the day!). I wonder how many Met Police have peaked tonight at this distraction on a Friday evening? Also, targeting The Daily Mail, FFS. Do they seriously think they're more powerful than the Mail when it comes to having a hold on politicians?!

TerfedOff · 19/10/2018 20:58

Did anybody happen to screenshot India's tweets? I think they have now been taken down.

arranfan · 19/10/2018 20:58

The smoke on its own could have caused injuries or deaths if people thought it was a fire or serious terrorist incident and had stampeded for fire exits

^^ This. Nobody in that building will have been expecting an incident.

Maybe if you're ex-Special Forces or Police Riot Squad, you can rapidly assess fumes as a smoke device/bomb v. a menacing explosive but most of us can't (thank goodness - it would be a wretched state of affairs if our everyday lives meant that we did know the difference).

And, it's sometimes surprising how damaging a benign device can be. Flash bangs burn white hot and the sparks thrown off by them can cause serious injury to people yet they're promoted on TV dramas as simply noisy distraction devices.

DuckingGoodPJs · 19/10/2018 21:19

Is that some kind of woke joke?
Did you not see the video of the protest?
No, not woke, not by a long stretch.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 19/10/2018 21:20

The answer to this is: privilege

BiologyMatters · 19/10/2018 21:35

Hilarious irony in them playing what's up by the 4 non blondes at the protest. A song written by a lesbian, performed by 4 lesbians about the patriarchy and not being heard. Sounds like a very terfy song to me.

i realized quickly when I knew I should
That the world was made up of this brotherhood of man
For whatever that means

bluetitsaretits · 19/10/2018 21:41

That is an excellent song.
NO! They don't get to have that song.
Just NO!

deepwatersolo · 19/10/2018 21:52

Hamster stay strong. From a very different scenario I lived through that also involved being massively embarrassed (and put at risk) by a group I was perceived as ‚part of‘ while actually rooting for the other, sane side, I believe I can relate.

BiologyMatters · 19/10/2018 21:56

I don't think that they realise that intimidating women into silence makes them the patriarchy. Even if they do want to be us.

On the one hand they're so weak and frail that a few stickers and a billboard are literal violence , on the other hand they're agressively picketing buildings and meetings, making bomb threats, harassing women, throwing smoke bombs around and preventing people from leaving their place of work. And... we are supposed to believe that they're the ones in need of protection?

ouda · 19/10/2018 21:56

Loving the bit about them "bringing a face cover, in case of TERF/ police presence" - by TERF, they presumably mean women, so in other words 'hide your face in case your mum sees'.

Lol.

ouda · 19/10/2018 21:58

And yes, as someone old enough to be their mum, it's time their parents explained to them that grown-ups discuss political opinions, they don't have a tantrum in public just because someone disgwees with them.

Freespeecher · 19/10/2018 22:11

They really need to take themselves in hand (though not in the Jess Bradley sense).

JillyArmeeen · 19/10/2018 22:39

India willouby is a liar, or thick, maybe both.
The consultation was due to close at 11pm, not midnight, and a reason was given for the extension. So everything iw said is false.
Never mind the downright ridiculous suggestion that smoke bombs were somehow women's fault.
Disgusting.
I thought iw was a "real transwoman" anyway? As in not actually for self Id and on these folks side?
Or will India say anything so long as it paints women as bad and wrong?

AneWitche · 19/10/2018 22:49

Cowards the lot of them. Angry
