Has anyone noticed that a certain Labour Party womens officer seems to have quietly stopped being one?

As predicted, experienced and observerd by may who are older and wiser, gone to Uni, grown up a bit, and realized what a tit they've been?

Why are you being coy? I think you are referring to Lily Madigan, from a brief Google.

calpop · 18/10/2018 09:33

Not being coy. We are not allowed to refer to them directly on MN, people have been banned in the past for doing so Of course that may have all changed today as i seem to have woken up in some kind of parallel universe where The Guardian is being reasonable snd The Labour Party have done something sane.

Hasn't she become LBGT officer?

calpop · 18/10/2018 09:35

yes for Brockley. Does tbis presumably mean no longer Women's Officer for Rochester or can you, under Labour Batshittery, be both?

There was a private eye piece (thread on mumsnet) mocking said person based on a tweet that does not imply any realization of having been ‚a tit‘. So any laying down of office, let alone on these grounds, would surprise me. Why do you think they did?

It's not possible to be a member of two separate constituency Labour parties. If Lily lives near Goldsmiths, then presumably they have decided to join the Brockley constituency, so the Rochester women's officer post will now be vacant.

calpop · 18/10/2018 09:38

Surely you cant be elected representative of 2 different places, can you? Mind you, nothing would surprise me.

Completely ridiculous that a male person attracted exclusively to female people, and who presents as unambiguously male, can now be lgbt officer. As ridiculous as them being women’s officer. How are LGB (and even genuine T) people represented by this chancer?

calpop · 18/10/2018 09:41

In fairness, i think its a better home for them than Women's Officer. I have no doubt they will at some point come out as gay (or straight as trans attracted to men or whatever).

OP posts:
MonsterSister · 18/10/2018 09:43

That'll be a shock to their current girlfriend.

Serfisafleur · 18/10/2018 09:44

They have a girlfriend and wants to marry her so not gay.

Serfisafleur · 18/10/2018 09:46

So they're LGBT officer now?
That's such a relief. That's the right position for them. I truly wish them a successful carreer representing Trans gender people. They had no place representing women (and abusing/hating women in the process).

VickyEadie · 18/10/2018 09:46

What have Labour done today that's "sane", please? Am abroad at present and not in full contact with news.

calpop · 18/10/2018 09:47

yes. Confused, bullued young person, trying to figure themselves out, goes away to Uni, disvovers whole new world of acceptance, tries out some different personas. Like so many before them. Should have been done in private though, not on Twitter and sanctioned by the LP.

OP posts:
Serfisafleur · 18/10/2018 09:47

They are trans sloth
Anyone who says they are trans, are trans.

Dhalandchips · 18/10/2018 09:48

Is the LP in favour of the GRA? Sorry if I'm derailing, I'm going to tear up my membership card and send it to Jeremy if that's the case! What's the WEP's stance on the GRA?

Avegemitesandwich · 18/10/2018 09:48

Perhaps you can self identify as elected representative of 2 different places?

calpop · 18/10/2018 09:49

Vicky I just meant LP members have elected, and presumably sanctioned, them as LGBT officer, which is comparatively way more sane when they elected them as Women's Officer.

Dhalandchips Where have you been! 😁

BreakWindandFire · 18/10/2018 09:55

I've been an elected officer in my local Labour Party in the past (although not women's officer). It's often boring, involves doing a bit of work, and is a thankless task - I suspect that Lily quickly found it to be too much effort.

charlestonchaplin · 18/10/2018 10:00

Dhal, Labour and WEP say transwomen are women.

Melamin · 18/10/2018 10:03

I thought I read elsethread that they only lasted a month. The CLP fb has a bit about a mum's group meeting during the day to encourage new women members (with a bit of WATM) so they are back to normal?

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 18/10/2018 10:07

LGBT Officer would be a much better role if that is the case. Good luck to them, I think they must have a modicum of political skill and enthusiasm to get this far. And generally I agree with a lot of Lily's political views.

StealthNinjaMum · 18/10/2018 10:14

If I identify as a Labour party member and a Rochester resident and a trans woman (rather than the mere woman that I am) can I apply?
