I've been lurking for the past year, and I'm absolutely overwhelmed with what's happening re the GRC etc. And the impact it could have for us and our daughters etc. Finally peak transed this week re Karen write and sent in the pre filled consultation last night. Been speaking about it at work and peak transing others. I'm absolutely on your side,

But this past week I've read loads on it all - twitter etc. Posie is a legend, I agree. The Harrop interview was on another level, and the projection stuff. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼, I just wondered what the MN hive were saying about the accusations re racism/ islamophobia? Are these tweets photo shopped? I am a 22yo woman, fresh out of 'woke' uni - I dont want to be flames and I absolutely support your views but I have just been wondering about this discrepancy?

I've read loads of threads on FWR re PP but have never seen these comments mentioned - obviously they are often brought up by TRAs (obvs when you're losing an argument, you need to bring up irrelevant shit). Nonetheless, I can't see in an AIBU thread that these views would be tolerated, interested to hear what everyone thinks here? Are they photoshopped? I can't imagine everyone fangirling her if not?

One of the only people I've ever had a serious dust up with on here was Poise

and yet I'm wearing my 'woman' t-shirt this morning (Posie, if you're reading, the cut sucks for women with large norks and the kind of belly you only get from gestating an 11lb baby, the FPFW ones are much better)

turns out I can agree with her on some stuff and vehemently disagree on others. funny that

It’s easier if you think in terms of religion rather than just Islam. I got annoyed about Christianity as an ex Christian. How come god is a man? And Jesus the son of god? When women aren’t the ones doing the things he preached about? How come all his disciples were male? How can a woman support a regime where women are basically invisible! Where’s the female pope?
I’m angry about the impact that religion and male gods has had on our entire history. At least in Ancient Rome and Greece there were female gods!! God is a man, god is supreme, man is superior to woman. It’s the biggest load of misogynist propaganda ever.

YuhBasic · 14/10/2018 11:52

All religion is stupid and harmful but not all religions are equally stupid and harmful all the time.

PersonWithAVulva · 14/10/2018 14:33

Well personally, I can agree with someone on some things while disagreeing with them on others. Something again, I am finding odd with TRAs and their insistence on spamming the same 2 tweets everywhere and saying that because feminists think Posies adult human female ads are great, that means they must agree with every single thing she has ever done or said ever. Its just..such an odd way to think. Where you can only agree with someone on a topic if you agree with everything else they have said throughout their life. Like, they will also say that because the mail has done some decent reporting on the topic, this means I also agree with everything the mail has ever printed. Just..odd and daft I think.

The racist comment about Posie Parker as far as I could tell comes from tweets saying that some cultures are more misogynistic than others, the one I saw referenced Pakistani men in regards to the “grooming gangs” scandal. It’s not politically correct and is uncomfortable but nonetheless true. All cultures are misogynistic, some more than others. Pretending this isn’t true does a disservice to the very real struggles of women living in those cultures who have to fight for things that we take for granted.

It’s important to understand that just because right wing demagogues or others we dislike think something doesn’t make the counterargument automatically unassailable. It’s not a zero sum game. For example people in the performative wing of the left made a big thing about showing support for women being able to wear hijabs when it’s something they’re obligated to do by their virulently patriarchal culture. Your freedom of religion and culture ends when you start oppressing people, and contrary to what some would like to believe women are people.

Also from what I have seen she seems to have had an argument on twitter where some ppl (a lesbian and someone else) criticised her for being gender conforming and called her a breeder. She then got angry and called those people bigots and said they were bulling her. I haven’t seen anything else. There was an incident where she said someone made a fake account of her and was trying to portray her as racist and homophobic not sure if that was on facebook though?

And the thing about trans men was obviously very poorly worded, but it should be obvious to everyone not purposefully trying to misrepresent it that it's about trans 'men' who willingly get pregnant through PIV sex, carry out a pregnancy for ~4 weeks, give birth (maybe even naturally) and breastfeed which are female-only experiences and still throw tantrums they're men and are the tool through which our language and humanity is taken away.

She has spoken in favour of lesbians many times and deff looks like she is prepared to fight self id. I think it is a shame about ppl getting into squabbles when there is a bigger problem we are facing.

homoseXXualmum · 14/10/2018 15:17

I meant 40 weeks. And that if these dusphoric women really wanted to be men, they wouldn't go through the most female experience there is.

QuentinWinters · 14/10/2018 15:50

Posie's tweets are in no way as offensive as a male who identifies as a woman telling women to "suck my dick" on international womens day Grin

DancingDakini · 14/10/2018 16:21

I find exactly the same thing odd about feminists repeatedly sharing that one Tweet from Danielle Muscato. It usually comes with the suggestion that anyone who isn't GC must somehow agree with it.

Personally I think DM represents TRAs as much as PP represents GC feminists and as individuals they are both as bad as each other.

QuietContraryMary · 14/10/2018 17:35

Uh oh Shock

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 14/10/2018 19:46

To all those name-checked on Dancing's post. Congratulations! You've made the TRA Hall of Fame. Mind you, it's like having a dog hump your leg but, still, fame!

DixieFlatline · 14/10/2018 20:16

I was going to say, Dakini isn't completely new, though maybe the Dancing part is. I'm sure I've seen them at least once before, since Rat and Supermatch seemed to disappear.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 14/10/2018 20:19

QuentinWinters · 14/10/2018 20:34

I feel a bit left out. Mind you I don't post so much these days. Still though.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 14/10/2018 20:37

it's a bit sad that dakini spends so much time here stalking reading the boards if they dislike it all so much

seems to me their time would be better spent doing something they enjoy
