That block check has only checked for ‘unfiltered’ for BT, Virgin, Talk Talk. So it could have been blocked for anyone using filters for those sites (eg parents)

ThomasShelbysBunnet · 14/10/2018 10:38

I just tried it on my BT WiFi and it's unavailable. However on EE data it's fine. BT usually states if it's blocked by parental controls though? This one just said site unavailable

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 10:43

That block check has only checked for ‘unfiltered

I'm pretty sure it checks everything, but the results returned depend on if it is blocked (try redtube.com to compare and contrast)

oopster · 14/10/2018 10:43

That’s down to bad auto filters. You should be able to access it after any adult filter has been removed by your service provider

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 10:45

It's not being filtered. It's DNS hasn't been redirected properly.

It's like if you move house and redirect your mail, but it gets messed up and instead of being forwarded it gets returned to sender.

FPFW have said it is being fixed, but it can take a long time for these changes to filter through.

birdbandit · 14/10/2018 10:45

Maybe it had to change server because it's getting so many visitors?

People on twitter gloating about having it kicked off BT/reclassified at adult or whatever, same as the Posie stuff, just peaking more folk.

oopster · 14/10/2018 10:47

Fair play for women’s site is not the “nicest” site in regards to transpeople, I’d like it if it wasn’t there, but, it is, and you should still have the choice to view it if you want as long as it’s not breaking any laws etc, which I think it’s very careful to be on the right side of the law. I don’t like the site or the content, but the way to counter an argument you disagree with is not to stifle or ban it (for the most part), but to counter it with facts and logical argument.

qumquat · 14/10/2018 10:48

Whatever the reason this is an absolute disaster. For anyone considering squeezing in returning the consultation in between a million other weekend tasks (ie most women) it could be enough to prevent them responding. Anyone seeing leaflets and who goes to look in curiosity will hit a dead end then get on with their lives, maybe even thinking the whole things a hoax or that it confirms we are evil after all if the internet has shut us down.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 14/10/2018 10:50

Oh do give over!

FPFW is not a trans anything site. It is a site specifically for women and their rights. And it is full of facts and logical arguments: actual verifiable facts and logical, based in real science arguments.

You may disagree, but please stop trying to dismiss it as being false.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 14/10/2018 10:52

oopster

Brilliant Post.
There is no site which is giving plane facts from the Trans side of the argument, I have tried asking here and other place for my questions to be answered and all discussion is completely shut down.

The trans activists have gone about this in the completely wrong way and have turned support against them in doing so, especially by hiding the consultation from the general public.

The only information the general public are getting is from sites like fairplay for women, and it's because the Trans activists are refusing all discussion and isolating themselves from the public.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 14/10/2018 10:53

What's happened here is the mistaken assumption the public will back Self ID if kept out of the public eye.

Beesandfrogsandfleas · 14/10/2018 11:08

Turn WiFi off, do it on your phone.

GladAllOver · 14/10/2018 11:23

It's working for me on Virgin broadband.

holidaylady · 14/10/2018 11:26

Needs WiFi to be turned off, if on virgin media. O2 4g it links to it

I'll ask virgin media why

GladAllOver · 14/10/2018 13:56

Doesn't for me. Works fine over Virgin.

WatchThePotatoesBoil · 14/10/2018 16:46

I think this may depend on whether you tried to look at the site when it was down, thus pulling in the info when it was dead, and that "dead" DNS entry lingering around somewhere in your end-to-end system.

However, if you didn't look at it when it was down, going there now will pull down (and cache) the valid DNS entry?

Just a guess, but that may explain the variance people are seeing.
