It works for me on my phone when I turn off wifi.

HandsOffMyRights · 13/10/2018 22:25

It doesn't work for me with phone wifi on or off

stealthsquirrelnutkin · 13/10/2018 22:49

It works for me if I access it from Germany, but not from the UK.

ohello · 13/10/2018 22:51

huh. Maybe a little transsomeone doesn't want feminists to access FairPlay's help page for filling in the consultation. Here's the archive version...

Gendertrender site works on my WiFi but not my 02 phone. Always been like that. It’s odd.

oopster · 14/10/2018 00:02

If you can access gendertrender on your home WiFi but not your mobile, it’s probably because of an adult content block by your mobile provider. The methods they use to determine whether a site contains adult content is not the best, but you can have the block lifted if you ask them. It’s basically to stop kids from accessing things they shouldn’t be accessing. It’s a bit frustrating for an adult, as as well as blocking the “proper” adult websites, there are ones that are perfectly suitable for all that get included.

OldCrone · 14/10/2018 00:07

I can get on the site using a VPN but not without.

Redkeyboard · 14/10/2018 00:09

Thanks oopster

papersmile · 14/10/2018 08:51

It's gone down again.

ThursdayNextIsMyHero · 14/10/2018 08:58

I can access fairplayforwomen.com on mobile data (O2) but not on wifi (Virgin media)

ThursdayNextIsMyHero · 14/10/2018 09:12

This must be a recent change because I could access the site a couple of days ago.

OpalIridescence · 14/10/2018 10:05

I was on the site all morning yesterday, then from 4 till now I can't get on.

SpannerInTheWorks · 14/10/2018 10:10

I can get onto the site on my mobile (Giffgaff) but not broadband (BT).

We didn't have any content filters on BT because we've just switched to them.

PrincessWire · 14/10/2018 10:17

Me too: fine on mobile data but not on wifi.

oopster · 14/10/2018 10:17

Apparently they’ve changed web hosts this weekend, so that could explain some of the outages, as well as the adult blocks on mobiles.

catgirl1976 · 14/10/2018 10:18

I've been tweeting @btcare

They have told meit is not blocked and to check my DNS settings. They are all fine. I can access it fine if I turn of my WIFI.

Therefore it is not an issue with the site or my pc set up. It must therefore be being blocked by BT. They are not accepting this. I have told them a lot of people are having the same issue and there are 2 threads currently running on mumsnet about this.

If more people tweet them they might actually believe it........

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 10:18

Saw this on Twitter, not sure I believe it though...

Juells · 14/10/2018 10:19

I can access it no problem.

It raises a point that occurred to me yesterday though, when donating to PP. When I'd donated a message appeared (I paid via paypal so the message was probably from them) asking if I wanted to share my email address with the recipient. My immediate thought was how long before some bastard hacks this site? so I clicked No. I hate the fact that we have to be so careful, but my paypal email address isn't a throwaway account.

R0wantrees · 14/10/2018 10:22

I saw a comment on Twitter last night that suggested the issue was with Virgin and TalkTalk servers which may have blocked FP4W site.

No idea if this is possible or true.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 14/10/2018 10:27

It is possible, they've probably been told it's a site for a hate group.

Juells · 14/10/2018 10:27

Virgin and TalkTalk servers which may have blocked FP4W site.

My broadband is with Virgin (Ireland) and I've no problem with the site.

Honestly, wouldn't you think those wankers on twitter would get a fucking life and leave women alone? They can't even pretend not to hate us.

Juells · 14/10/2018 10:30

It is possible, they've probably been told it's a site for a hate group.

Considering that right at the top of the first page it refers to the public consultation, it's stifling legitimate political campaigning. Anyone'd think women discussing women's rights were like the BNP.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 14/10/2018 10:31

That's what it's being made out to be to companies isn't it.

FermatsTheorem · 14/10/2018 10:31

Re. that twitter claim upthread, I don't think it can be porn metatags, because my IP has a really stringent net nanny, and I can still see FPFW. (Also - someone techier than me may be able to confirm - I don't think a third party could add such tags to someone else's page. They could add the whole address to a block list, but that's different.)

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 10:33

They are not being blocked (see my last link above). If they have recently changed host it sounds more like the transfer of the DNS was fucked up.
