A heartfelt THANK YOU.

When all the idiots are parroting TWAW it feels, no it is, like I'm being abused again by the cross dressing, fetish addled man I'm divorcing. He wanted me to comply with his sexy shite, he and his other AGP pals have got half of Twitter dancing to his tune, but not amazing women like you lovely lot.

THANK YOU TO POSIE AND THE TEAM.

You are a life raft in a shit sea of crazy.

quietbutdetermined · 12/10/2018 22:13

Loving it, absolutely brilliant. Well done adult human females Star

PickleNeedsAFriendInReading · 12/10/2018 22:13

surely "of or denoting the sex that can..." doesn't mean that it has to be working in all aspects for it still to be true. A woman who cannot bear offspring is still of the sex that can, sharing many of the other biological characteristics, working or not. A man can never do that.

Women are defined by this ability, but not limited to it. Women don't need to be seen solely as breeders or incubators, but that doesn't change the fact that men cannot do it, and it is what distinguishes women from men. It doesn't mean that there is not much more to people - women or men - than their role in reproduction.

Lady Bunbury is most impressed and also waves her reminder flag.

Oh FFS it was only a matter of time before some fuckwit came on here to try and derail this thread with their disengenuous arguments.

Everyone, DO NOT ENGAGE!

ApplesinmyPocket · 12/10/2018 22:16

PinkyU, you have not understood the definition.

'..of the sex that can...' doesn't mean ''a person who has given birth or will give birth'.

PinkyU · 12/10/2018 22:17

Can, meaning the distinction is that if a person can NOT then they do not fall within this definition of female and therefore women, regardless of their vagina, vulva, breasts or chromosomes.

Elephantinacravat · 12/10/2018 22:18

So, what if you have any number of medical conditions which prohibits you from producing eggs, are you therefore not a female and therefore not a woman?

No honey, because you would still be 'of or denoting the sex which produces ova'. This is stuff ain't rocket science you know.

PinkyU its of the sex that can bear offspring which doesnt leave out those who are unable or unwilling for any reason.
Males can NEVER bear offspring.
And, in todays western society, where we have a little bit more choice and have mostly thrown off the everyday shackles of strict patriarchial religion, it isnt women's only destiny by far, however it is completely on the basis of being able to bear offspring that girls and women have been controlled and regulated since force rather than wisdom took over.
Men sought to control women, as they sought to control their flocks. We were, and in vast amounts of the world, still are no more than chattels to procreate, housewife, and labour for men.
And even in the west, those centuries of training run deep. Maybe we are not kept out of school and married off at 9 to our 42 year old cousin, but we are still groomed by a society that looks at our sexual function in respect of men as paramount in our worth. Our biology. And viewed inferior from that which has gone before.
We women know this. We know we are not just our biology, but we know it is men's need to control our biology that has oppressed us.
so dont come with your owww but what aboutery women cant have kids shit

Elephantinacravat · 12/10/2018 22:21

Everyone, DO NOT ENGAGE!

PinkyU is entitled to post here. They have put forward an argument, disingenous or not. Whether people want to engage is up to them. Believe me, I have seen much worse derailing on another thread today!

The definition that defines what a female is solely stated that it is those who CAN produce eggs.

No it doesn't.

Of. The. Sex.

A woman who doesn't produce eggs is still of the sex that can.

NettleTea · 12/10/2018 22:24

Of or denoting

thats the answer.

seafret · 12/10/2018 22:25

of the class PinkyU it doesn't mean people who are female but have a medical issue that affects a part of their biolgy.

Like a bald sheep is still a sheep.

Elephantinacravat · 12/10/2018 22:25

I don't produce eggs at the moment because of some heavy duty drugs I am being given? Once I finish the drugs I may or may not start producing them again. Am I currently not of the sex which produces ova? But I will be if I start producing them again?

frillmassive · 12/10/2018 22:29

Thanks @WeShouldBeFriends - donated Smile

seafret · 12/10/2018 22:30

god the cut and paste typos, sorry

of the class that can (or sex) so a female and woman is still female and woman even with medical issue with a part of her biology.

Like a bald sheep is still a sheep.

ShackUp · 12/10/2018 22:30

pinky at the moment, we're permitted to argue with each other about this. Anti-women activists want #nodebate. Do you agree with them? Because that's totalitarianism.

FloralBunting · 12/10/2018 22:31

Misplaced pedantry is the best you lot can come up with right now? Grin Blimey, this must be really smarting...

PinkyU · 12/10/2018 22:32

And the definition of sex is?.....

colouringinpro · 12/10/2018 22:33

Posie you ROCK! ❤
