The details of the two rapes he was originally convicted for are utterly chilling. One victim said her internal injuries are so bad she is unsure if she can conceive

What the actual fuck was he doing in a women’s prison? I am enraged by this. Is ANYONE being made held accountable for this? I would sue the fuck out of the prison service if I was one of the female prisoners.

Lynne1Cat · 11/10/2018 19:02

If a baby is born as a male, with XY chromosones, and a baby is born as a female with XX chromosones, no amount of surgery/dressing-up/make-up or anything else is going to alter that!

XX = female
XY = male.

NOTHING can ever change the chromosones. FACT.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 11/10/2018 19:07

Erm no

That person's name is Karen
They are a woman
They are female

That is what they say they are and so that is what they are

At least they've put some makeup on and done their hair - this is not necessary because being a woman isn't about looks > that is very sexist.

This person belongs in a womens prison.

This is what self ID means and it is ALSO what is already in place in many orgs throughout the country. This person can and should be "treated as a woman" for all intents and purposes and they have been. The stats of their crimes will be attributed to a woman. They were locked in a female psychiatric facility with (other!) vulnerable women. They were rightly put in a women's prison.

There are NOT exceptions > you are what you say you are and that is the rule. This is a woman, a female person. There is no "not true trans" as there is no way of proving one way or another how someone feels in their head.

Brain Paddick apparently agrees that TWAW and Karen White is a woman and this was just a bit of "poor risk assessment".

Right.

Women (cunty) DO NOT MATTER in the face of what men, even men who are CONVICTED OF RAPE want, and even if what they want is to be locked in with a smorgasbord of vulerable female potential victims.

If a TW has a GRC they MUST be housed on the female estate. This will be a simple online form. I imagine they can get internet access in prison.

Will transmen be automatically put in with the men, especially if they have not has surgery / hormones? No. Why the fuck not? Are they not men then?

Whole thing stinks.

This is the report in the Guardian

www.theguardian.com/society/2018/oct/11/karen-white-how-manipulative-and-controlling-offender-attacked-again-transgender-prison

I have NEVER seen ANYTHING remotely like this in the Guardian. The "before" photo; and this, even being included as a point of view:

“It is a very toxic debate, but I think prisons have probably been influenced by some of the extreme conversations and have been bullied into making some decisions that have harmed women."

This is given in the report in inverted commas as an opinion of an individual (Crook) but isn't overtly sneered at - and that it was included AT ALL is astonishing.

I know that happened in this case has been disgraceful, but I really think that the work that the gender critical feminists like so many of YOU LOT!!!! is gaining traction. I haven't seen anything REMOTELY like this in the Guardian before.

Well done. Flowers Flowers Flowers Flowers Flowers Flowers

Bisquitine · 11/10/2018 19:21

OH, who has been very dismissive over all my talk on self-ID and so on, texted me today with a link to the Karen White case saying, "ok, you win!". There comes a point when it is obvious how wrong this is.

VickyEadie · 11/10/2018 19:34

That comment along the lines of it's a 'one off' and it 'proves the rule' (i.e. that they're getting it right otherwise) is alarming.

If you extrapolate that view across all safeguarding, why bother doing anything after a man murders two little girls he's groomed, eh? Because most men don't.

cheminotte · 11/10/2018 19:36

I had to check what the Guardian had written and it’s the most balanced piece on the subject I’ve read there in ages (not saying much I know, but still).
Interesting how they’ve put it under ‘crime’ not ‘transgender’. It’s both of course but their categories annoy me sometimes.

blamethecat · 11/10/2018 19:36

Will he be returned to a male prison where he belongs?

noeffingidea · 11/10/2018 19:41

blame yes he has been returned to a male prison.
I'd just like to remind people that the speaker of the commons refused to allow this case to be discussed in the Commons. Why? That's very suspect, IMO.

RomanyRoots · 11/10/2018 19:48

what's his name? perhaps we should refer to him as Karl White and then there's no confusion.
I hope somebody does him in, in fact send them all to women's prisons and let them get what's coming to them.
I mean trans criminals, not all trans.

RiverTam · 11/10/2018 19:52

@MNHQ why was I deleted? I stated facts, pure and simple. You're deleting people who say this rapist is a man? WTF????

PotteryGirl · 11/10/2018 19:59

The BBC called him a ‘she’.....Raging..🤬. With that sort of history and being openly not committed to transitioning, which Dr give the go ahead on this....WTAF😡

VickyEadie · 11/10/2018 20:09

@MNHQ why was I deleted? I stated facts, pure and simple. You're deleting people who say this rapist is a man? WTF????

Not a lot of consistency from the mods - when Jacinta Brooks was in the news last week, they gave people who wanted to a free pass to use 'he' and 'man'.

JeSuisPrest · 11/10/2018 20:11

From the Guardian article:

Jenny-Anne Bishop, from the transgender rights groupTransforum, said "No system is perfect. It’s human nature that people will sometimes get it wrong.”

I'm sure that will bring great comfort to the women assaulted in prison by this man. Mistakes happen so get over it ladies 🙄

PotteryGirl · 11/10/2018 20:41

Man Rapist Abuser...wake up and smell the coffee..

ScienceIsTruth · 11/10/2018 21:08

This case would probably peak trans most people.
My DH, who I thought wasn't really listening to my 'ranting', has actually been sending it to work colleagues to peak trans them too. He's shocked, and finally gets what I've been trying to explain to him.

BesmirchingMotherhood · 11/10/2018 21:14

Every person who chants the mantra 'transwomen are women' needs to understand that according to stonewall definitions and the trans activists, that's a 'woman'.

And they must not be allowed to say any of them are not, or to cherry pick, or to make up exceptions.

LuggsaysNotaWomen · 11/10/2018 21:20

"No system is perfect. It’s human nature that people will sometimes get it wrong.”

Except they didn’t “get it wrong” though did they? They knowingly disregarded all safeguarding measures and the evidence in front of their nose to indulge a man.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 11/10/2018 21:27

That was a piss-poor article by The Independent. Even The Guardian, for whom I have no brief, covered it better.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 11/10/2018 21:28

And they must not be allowed to say any of them are not, or to cherry pick, or to make up exceptions.

Agreed.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 11/10/2018 21:28

Jenny-Anne Bishop, from the transgender rights groupTransforum, said "No system is perfect. It’s human nature that people will sometimes get it wrong.”

Bishop can fuck off.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 11/10/2018 21:32

you believe TWAW then you are complicit in this man ending up in a women's prison.

Yes.

Annandale · 11/10/2018 21:41

Interesting Guardian article. Both sides apparently agree that 'mistakes were made' - what mistake? Karen White said she was a woman. She had been living as a woman. She was placed in a woman's prison. What mistake, according to the current system, was made? She was assigned male at birth but had an acquired feminine gender, and was treated accordingly, as current policy requires. What other information about this person could possibly have been relevant?

Suppose I had been sexually assaulted by this person and chose to sue the Ministry of Justice. Was there a policy in place? Yes. Was the policy followed? Apparently so. Everything worked perfectly. Would I even have a case?

SophoclesTheFox · 11/10/2018 21:50

It's so disingenuous to frame this as "a mistake".

It wasn't a mistake. It wasn't even a failure of policy. It was an entirely forseeable consequence of the implementation of an ideology. Anyone possessing a pair of eyes and a brain had clocked that this would inevitably happen about five years ago.

But This Never Happens.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 11/10/2018 22:15

It was an entirely forseeable consequence of the implementation of an ideology.

This. It's inevitable.

But as Bishop makes clear in the quote above: as far as the TRA lobby are concerned, women must learn to accept as normal having less safety, more rapes, more assaults, more harassment, more sex crimes, more murders, because this is the price of male born people getting what they stunningly and bravely deserve.

It's justified as women moaning about losing some of their 'privilege'.

If you're not raging yet, you haven't fully understood the situation.
