Just explain the recipe shit to me please

Just that. I am, I suspect, very slightly on the spectrum and I find it confusing and stress-inducing. It always reminds me of experiences of being bullied.

Is it something I should interpret as a signal that one or more pp is not in good faith?

Is there some positive intent behind it?

Please don’t reply by repeating it.

That potato slime thing is making me boak a bit, mind you.

KatVonSweet · 03/09/2018 18:07

'floisme'
What did you ask that got a recipe response?

It is all quite crazy funny really

terryleather · 03/09/2018 18:13

I agree Betty,** it could give you know what a run for it's money in the boak stakes.

I hate when potato breaks down so much that it goes slimy but grainy. I dislike potatoes in soup because of it - bleurghhh!

ShrodingersSturdyPyjamas · 03/09/2018 18:14

Lol.

Just explain the recipe shit to me please
BettyDuMonde · 03/09/2018 18:16

Bless. They are obsessed with us, huh?

Maybe we could convince them that runny mash is a genuine recipe recommendation?

That’ll learn ‘em!

Floisme · 03/09/2018 18:18

If I recall correctly, I objected to someone using the phrase ‘mutton dressed as lamb’.

It was a couple of months ago and I’ve no idea what the thread was originally about but I was pretty pissed off. I felt like I was 12 years old again and back at school with the mean girls.

It’s possible that it was directed at someone else but I don’t think so.

Floisme · 03/09/2018 18:19

Six multiple cross post - the was to kat.

BettyDuMonde · 03/09/2018 18:19

As for cliques well, I only started posting in June, I think?

Lurked for a couple of weeks first.

Came to check out the raging transphobia.
Got radicalised.
Stayed for the recipes.

Feels like I’ve always been here.
It’s as comfy as a pair of Incredibly Sturdy Pyjamas (tm).

Floisme · 03/09/2018 18:19

Soz not six!

BettyDuMonde · 03/09/2018 18:22

Flo my husband described himself as such just this last Saturday! He was wearing a ribbed vest and fretting about being too old for it (he’s turning 50 in a few weeks).

Turns out he’s owned that vest for about 20 years, so really he was mutton dressed in mutton!

LangCleg · 03/09/2018 18:22

Is Weetabix transphobic?

12thGuelph · 03/09/2018 18:23

The term is "passive-aggressive", but hell, OP, so was Gandhi.

terryleather · 03/09/2018 18:45

Is Weetabix transphobic?

It is the way you eat it Lang Grin

I'm personally not into torture. I'm out.

However, potato and leek soup could be recommended.

I'm reminded of how the CIA use music as a form of torture.

In a piece of satire this piece has jumped on the wagon. With apologies to all of you north of Hadrian's Wall. Contains sensitive material about Nigel Farage that some readers might find upsetting.

placemats · 03/09/2018 18:49

Personally, I'm in favour of this approach.

terryleather · 03/09/2018 18:53

Noooooo! That's got a clown in it!

I can't even with that, I'd have a pic of Weetabix Banana Horror before I'd have that ShockShockShock

LangCleg · 03/09/2018 18:53

It is the way you eat it Lang

Transphobically?

Probably AIBU. Have a look through your postings and then post back to us. You have a history on Mumsnet.

placemats · 03/09/2018 18:57

Forget the clown, he's a pussy cat.

THE MUSIC!

terryleather · 03/09/2018 18:57

Well you're posting on MN FWR and it's a transphobic hate group according to some so...

RatRolyPoly · 03/09/2018 19:00

@speakingwoman, yeah, still a loud-mouthed libfem :) What's the liberation of women if we're only free to do what we're told? Maximum personal liberty for all structural and legislative changes to bring about equality over time and the doors flung open for women to do as we please with no presupposition as to what that might be. Won't shut up about it Grin

I've been out of the loop with trans threads lately but when I have dropped by for a skim I've been pleased to read your contributions. Not that we agree of course, but I've never thought we all should. A liberal to the end!

Good work on the thread.

I do like the look of that slaw - I'd leave out the sugar, but it looks right up my boulevard.

Floisme · 03/09/2018 19:03

I’m positive it was FWR placenats - I wouldn’t have been so shocked if it had been AIBU. I’ll try and do a post search although I don’t want to start a fight about it - I was just explaining why I’m not a fan of the tactic although I understand why it happens.

placemats · 03/09/2018 19:05

Rat

The BBC doesn't do transphobia but it's always happy to indulge in a bit of sexism.

placemats · 03/09/2018 19:07

Go onto 'I'm watching'. Top of this thread.

You'll get the post. I would be interested to see it.
