A few things I buy for my family (soon to be 8) purely based on Mumsnet adverts or more likely the endless reviews, threads and posts recommending tried and tested products.
Off the top of my head:

Lidl nappies
Ebac dehumidifier
HiPP baby food
Asda baby bath range (is it called Little Angels?)
Those little Soreen loaves for lunchboxes
Birds Eye fish fingers
Fairy non bio gel
Timberlands
Birds Eye chicken dippers
Birds Eye frozen peas
Brantano shoes
Soltan water play
Samsung washing machine
Parlux hair dryer
Pitrok deodorant
Aunt Bessie’s roasties
SEAT car
Water wipes
Hedrin gel
Adidas Stan Smiths
JML cooking pillow
Miele cat and dog vacuum cleaner
Ambrosia custard
Boden swimming costume
Clark’s loafers
Cybex Cloud Q car seat
The Ordinary skincare
Tesco school uniform
Liz Earle cleanse and polish
Cross Country train tickets
Medela Swing breast pump

I respect and appreciate Mumsnet for allowing women to talk about their rights despite intense lobbying from anti female activists.

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/08/2018 04:36

I have switched adblocker off Mumsnet. Just FYI.

TinyRick · 30/08/2018 04:53

I bought a Mooncup, does that count?

Tanith · 30/08/2018 07:41

Of course, the danger of these repeated “reports” to advertisers is that they risk becoming the crank pests that all such organisations regularly deal with and routinely ignore.

LemonJello · 30/08/2018 07:41

Birds eye peas come in a ziplock bag! Never again will I be buying own brand and sprinkling them under the fridge freezer every time I open the drawer. Birds eye all the way for me and my family!

I was reading about both this and the suppression of the Brown's university study on rapid onset gender disphoria today. I find it so depressing.

My DD1's best friend identifies as trans and that study read like they'd met the kid. Extremely high intelligence. Check. Difficulties with social relationships. Check. No prior inclinations to display stereotypes of the opposite gender. Check. Underlying mental health issues. Check. New trans friends on the internet. Check. New found love of anime. Check. (That bit wasn't in the study but it sure as hell is a thing) Trauma in the home. Check...

I want them to grow up happy and strong.
If they are trans they are trans. So be it.
But this sudden spike needs investigating. Not ignoring and not suppressing. This is insanity.

Meanwhile DD2 has two friends who id in and out of the trans rainbow. Ones now a demi women and its threatening to buy illegal hormones. I'm hoping that's bs. That's bs right?

Of cause any woman who urges caution is a witch. God this situation.

Thank you mumsnet for allowing discussion and standing against bullying. Thank you to your advertisers too.

Sunkisses · 30/08/2018 07:59

Jeez, can these people get any more sinister? I have also turned off my adblocker for Mumsnet. Thank you Mumsnet for allowing women to speak freely about our legal rights. I think @MNHQ should be talking to Victoria Atkins MP, as she is not only the minister for women but also the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Crime, Safeguarding and Vulnerability which includes internet safety and tackling terrorism (which I believe extremist trans activism is sliding into)

vicviking · 30/08/2018 08:01

And surely advertisers can see which way the wind is blowing this. People who work in these jobs have to keep their noses to the ground to be able to sell to us. This is a huge freedom of speech issue and could backfire horribly on a brand that decided to act on these TRA claims.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 30/08/2018 08:01

As sinister as the tufty club. Feh.

KatVonSweet · 30/08/2018 08:03

Tufty club in very high heels.

IS THAT EVEN SAFE?!!!!!

AsAProfessionalFekko · 30/08/2018 08:05

Not advisable...

EverardDigby · 30/08/2018 08:07

Hmm Well I think we're unlikely to see a sudden rise in trans women wearing Boden so I'm not too worried....

sociopathsunited · 30/08/2018 08:38

Advertisers on MN sell to women. Women who are often Mums. Despite all their postulating and pontificating, the TRA crowd will never buy what the advertisers sell on here. They don't want nappies and breast pumps, or fish fingers. If those companies want to sell, they will advertise to women who will buy their products. Household purchases are largely decided on by women. We do the food shopping, buy the cleaning products and the baby stuff. I'm happy to withdraw my custom from any company who complies with demands from them.

BraveAndStunning · 30/08/2018 08:40

This TERFBLOCKER?

For lurkers, 'Truscum' is what transactivists call transsexuals who have gone through SRS surgery and who believe that 1) gender dysphoria is a fundamental condition present in transgender people 2) medical transisition of some kind is required (and not simply breast augmentation)

India Willoughby then is called 'truscum' by them.

Certainly not the 'kind' behaviour they demand of women.

LangCleg · 30/08/2018 08:40

Dear Idiots:

67% of all UK household consumption is controlled or influenced by women. Women make the decision or influence the purchase of 92% of holidays, 65% of cars, 93% of food, 91% of home goods.

You have sieves for brains.

All the best and Under Birds Eye. Blessed be the Zoflora.

Lang

BraveAndStunning · 30/08/2018 08:42

They also dislike mumsnet intensely because women can discuss this subject.

And behold! Look who is being advised to sue.

Ereshkigal · 30/08/2018 08:44

And behold! Look who is being advised to sue.

For what exactly?

BraveAndStunning · 30/08/2018 08:50

Who can say Ereshkigal? For being mean women who drink gin?

On the other hand, we have said lots of things about the lovely Jess, who continues to bask in obscurity

Charliethefeminist · 30/08/2018 10:07

So I get a lot of ads for clothes, trainers, furniture (building work being done) homeware and I've bought skechers x 3, loads of uniqlo stuff and currently hunting for sofa.

UpstartCrow · 30/08/2018 10:13

As the person who does most of the shopping for the family, I have never bought S&M gear or hired the services of an individual to come and whip us soundly.

I do frequently buy fish fingers and peas tho.

Juells · 30/08/2018 10:18

I don't understand the 'Cis women are women' on terfblocker.
