'Transwoman' blazes a trail across British Columbia to force salons to give 'Brazillian' wax, filing human rights complaints against 15 separate salons

nationalpost.com/news/canada/not-for-men-sorry-transgender-woman-files-human-rights-complaint-after-being-denied-brazilian-wax

The facts appear to be:

  • the complainant is accused of harassing salon workers
  • the complainant is anonymous even while those at the salon are not
  • the complainant used a male name but claimed to have 'transitioned', whatever the fuck that means
  • the service is described as a 'Manzillian', presumably this means cock & balls, though this is not clear

Obviously in addition to the right of salon workers not to be forced to wax cocks, they would likely not be trained in dick waxing, as it's a completely different procedure

TheDishRanAwayWithTheSpoon · 23/08/2018 12:10

They are suing women because they won't touch their dick/balls is that right?

It's pointless anyway, it's not transphobic. The salon offers Brazilian waxes I.e. waxing of the vulva, they don't have a vulva. It's a bit like suing a hairdresser because they won't dye your hair when you are bald. Or suing a dentist because they won't give you a denture when you have all your teeth.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/08/2018 12:12

I can't believe some pissed off salon worker didn't say 'oh them Doris, take off your cracks and let's get some hot oil then...'

SPOFS · 23/08/2018 12:45

The brass neck of this person! Angry

How dare xe? I mean, you'd think this person would have some friends/ family that would tell them what a knob they're being?!?

Sadly, this will scare many small businesses into doing whatever the TRAs say they should. And the women that don't want to touch male bits will simply have to stay home. Sad

AngryAttackKittens · 23/08/2018 12:48

I'm pretty sure that strangers declining to touch your testicles is not a civil rights issue no matter how much this person would like it to be.

Datun · 23/08/2018 12:52

Have there been the the same number of male services targeted by transmen?

This entire issue is about exploiting the power dynamic between men and women.

Eg there won't be any women demanding that male security guards pat them down with a ha ha, made you touch me! Or demanding entry to male prisons, locker rooms, etc.

They might go into a barbers, and demand they have number two all over, which is much cheaper than going into a ladies' salon. But that's not really exploiting any kind of power dynamic.

The one issue which counts, that of primogeniture, funnily enough, is exempt. Women cannot inherit over their brothers, even if they transition.

Likewise the Freemasons. They accept men who transition to women, but not women who transition to men.

It's deliberate, regressive and sexist.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 23/08/2018 12:58

Skipped to the end of the thread as going out.

The second case will be especially interesting as it is one type of protection - religious - the woman providing the service is muslim and her religion won't let her handle the cock and balls of men she's not married to >> vs Transwoman's right to have a "Brazilian" on their bollocks by someone who is not trained to do so and not "allowed" to touch their bollocks.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/08/2018 13:46

Can I ask for a prostate check then?

noeffingidea · 23/08/2018 15:20

This reminds me of the TRAs who whinged and whined over the pink pussy hats on the women's marches. They just can't handle the fact that women can bond over things that exclude them. So pathetic and childish.
Well done to the salon owners who are standing up to this shit, hope they win the cases, and establish a precedent for other salons to follow.

ZuttZeVootEeVro · 23/08/2018 15:56

They just can't handle the fact that women can bond over things that exclude them.

I think that's true of a lots of males, regardless of their gender identity. That's why men in power are so happy to support the removal of sex segregation, because they recognise those spaces as places where women can bond and talk without men. Male people are very keen to remove the echo chamber of women talking to each other.

I’m building up a bit of a picture of men in women’s changing rooms, at children’s swimming lessons, and now Canadian beauty parlours ...
AIBU?

NameChangedAgain18 · 23/08/2018 17:02

Latinista, no you're not BU. The exhibitionists and plain, old-fashioned flashers have now found a way to swing their dicks around in front of women with impunity and, depending on how this court case goes, to even demand that women touch their genitals. All cheered on by woke "feminists" like Justin Trudeau and countless "progressive" MPs in the UK.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/08/2018 17:12

Where are the women demanding to prance around naked in men only spaces flaunting their manboobs and mangina?

Oh, that's right - they'd be chased around with a large butterfly net and carted off by the folks in white coats. Bad women scaring the men.

WomanInBoots · 23/08/2018 17:29

Off topic again, back to "holes" briefly... apologies if this is already patently obvious and I'm just late to the party but urethra is not the "front hole" because it doesn't count as a hole because men can't stick their dick in it.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 23/08/2018 19:30

Yes exactly woman.

Whole thing is totally male and sex centred.

NameChangedAgain18 · 23/08/2018 21:22

Where are the women demanding to prance around naked in men only spaces flaunting their manboobs and mangina?

When the Man Friday chaps attempted a toned down version of this at Hampstead Ponds, the police were called. Funny how the outcomes are so different, isn’t it?

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/08/2018 21:27

But they werent exactly trying to intimidate or 'pass' as men or intimidate anyone (or goad anyone into saying 'I say - you're not a man' so that they could scream 'hatespeak!!!').

They were very funny - I loved the older chap who pointed out in a very English manner that they were actually in the men's pool (as if one woman in a mankini and another top less one with a fake beard was perfectly normal).

NameChangedAgain18 · 23/08/2018 21:53

Exactly, all Man Friday were doing was turning up and making a humourous, but serious, point. And, for that, the police got called.

Meanwhile, a transwoman demands that a Muslim woman handle their cock and balls, and when the salon doesn’t oblige, it’s off to court with them. If they’d turned up at the salon and whipped out their cock in a closed room in front of the woman, the police wouldn’t turn up if called (and, if they did, it would be to admonish the woman).

The entitlement of these men (the biological ones, not the Friday-identifying ones) knows no bounds. And, what’s worse, society and the law panders to and upholds that entitlement.

Ereshkigal · 23/08/2018 22:14

The thing is there are male allies who would do this and expose it but they would feel uncomfortable harassing women in any way.

Because we are playing by rules and they fucking aren't.

OlennasWimple · 23/08/2018 23:07

I've realised over the years that the main reason I don't go to beauty salons much isn't because I'm not vain (I am) or care about fashion and make up (I do), it's that I don't like being touched by people I don't know very well. Even a manicure is pretty intimate (especially when they do a hand massage as well), as is eyebrow threading or anything on your face really.

Women should absolutely not be forced to have physical contact with any man who they dont' want to, including and especially their genitalia.

As an aside, I feel very sorry for older beauticians who got into the industry before it was pretty standard to do brazilians / Hollywoods / whatevers. A bit of leg waxing, the odd upper lip, eyebrow shaping... Now they have to be prepared to whip off an unknown woman's pubes - and apparently also any man's ball sack hair if he asks for the service

I feel like we need a term for this sort of specific fixated one-issue querulous complainer. Like "vexatious lawsuits", but more specific.

Probably needs an invented word - profitatious lawsuit.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 25/08/2018 10:58

Miri1985

That is a real snapshot of women/ men in society

In general men have more money
Women's pain - is underestimated/ we can "take it"/ have to "get on with it" etc, men need to be comfortable. Unfortunately this crosses into the medical world where women's pain is often dismissed as imaginary at GP level, and at hospital level after surgery etc we are given less pain relief (our pain is not managed as well as mens)

QuietContraryMary · 29/10/2018 07:34

Apparently 'J' wanted to show naked 10 year old girls how to insert tampons.

www.economist.com/briefing/2018/10/27/when-one-persons-right-is-anothers-obligation

It's so great that we are giving human rights for depraved paedophiles.

Mrstwiddle · 29/10/2018 07:44

I live in BC, and read about this case a while back, ridiculous doesn’t even begin to cover it.

As an aside does anyone happen to know any Canadian groups which are fighting for women’s rightism here? There is one group called Culture Guard but they’re specifically against SOGI being taught in schools. Incidentally they were going to hold a talk in our small town, only for the towns Facebook warriors to insist it be cancelled, which it was. So depressing.

PreseaCombatir · 29/10/2018 08:33

‘Front hole’ is reducing the vagina to a receptacle in which to put a penis. It’s not a ‘hole’. Transwomens neo vaginas may be holes, a vagina is not
