The critique of Transgender Trend from teachers against conversion therapy references this article about transgender children in preschool. It reads to me like utter nonsense, but think the journal is pretty respected so would welcome views from anyone who knows more about this than I do.

I’ve definitely found its older generation women who make 99% of the comments when they see DD out and about with her dinosaur toys things like “oh that’s unusual for a girl”

Maybe but it's not older women who are pushing this transgender crap and it's not older women who are appearing on videos & TV shows of "my transgender kid".

My DGD is just like Absofrigginlootly's DD. I am very worried for what society might tell her, although her parents are completely fine with her being as she is - a non-conforming girl.

The qualitative study reports on two girls who had transitioned when they were in elementary school and struggled with the desire to return to their original gender role.

It's appalling that they can't see that kids like this should dress and look however they want while still being affirmed as the sex they are.

Adults are creating a huge mess for us all, but especially for 'trans' kids.

The children I’ve looked after have always played with a wide variety of toys. In addition to the stereotypical play, boys happily play with dolls, dress up in dresses, love pink; girls play with cars and garages, trains, wear trousers, and love to get muddy. They have access to all activities and all resources and they’re encouraged to use all. No toy is “only for girls” or “no boys”.

At 2-3 years old, it becomes very important to them to identify and define who is a girl and who is a boy. They will firmly correct mistakes made by adults.

The problems occur when gender stereotypes are forced onto young children. As I said earlier, I have never yet met a young child who identifies as the opposite sex nor heard of one from any of my colleagues.
The number must be miniscule, or it actually presents at an older age - and I’d question what occurred in that child’s earlier years.

Nearly a quarter of 14-year-old girls in the UK said they had self-harmed, a report suggests.
A survey of 11,000 children found 22% of the girls and 9% of the boys said they had hurt themselves on purpose in the year prior to the questionnaire.
Rates of self-harm were worst (46%) among those who were attracted to people of the same or both genders.
The Children's Society report said gender stereotypes and worries about looks were contributing to unhappiness.

Sad
