So it's ok for them to bring their actual penises into women's toilets but not stickers of penises.

Right...

Ereshkigal · 15/08/2018 09:07

That's it!

ChattyLion · 15/08/2018 09:38

Eh? Male bodied TRAs aren’t sparing any kids from potentially seeing their literal cocks when they use the ladies toilets (where young children go with their mums)?

And their advocacy for gender self-ID would legally open the way for ANY man who wants to (on purpose or accidentally) show a child or woman their cock in the confined and secluded environment of the ladies toilets- by saying it is the right of anyone with a penis to be in the ladies’ toilets unchallenged.?

CesiraAndEnrico · 15/08/2018 09:44

This might explain why Jess Bradley thought getting her knob out in public was OK.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

BraveAndStunning · 15/08/2018 12:15

No true Scotsman fallacy?

wigglybeezer · 15/08/2018 12:33

The " vile" stickers are being discussed on a thread on The Student Room, I think it's in the current affairs forum.
Interesting reading younger people's views, although there's the usual tropes being rehashed. Maybe someone with better IT skills could do a link...

MorbidMuch · 15/08/2018 12:44

This one Wiggly?

SwearyG · 15/08/2018 13:20

No true Scotsman phallusy BraveandStunning

drradfem · 15/08/2018 13:29

What is The Student Room?

Ah sorry just saw the link!Smile

@wigglybeezer

The comments are really interesting - It is plain to see who is getting hysterical.

E.g....

"thank you for demonstrating your ignorance of the law ...

thank you for demonstrating your scientific illiteracy and confusion on sex and gender

you do not display reasoning , just blind adherence to a cult of ignorance and bigotry."

It almost sounds like a bot or a call centre 'on hold' message.

drradfem · 15/08/2018 13:34

Is it like student Mumsnet? Surprised by the number of 'gender critical' comments Glitterball

BraveAndStunning · 15/08/2018 13:39

Ha ha SwearyG. Brilliant!

That should be put on a poster

wigglybeezer · 15/08/2018 14:02

Thank you Morbid.
TSR is quite an interesting read, I've read quite a few gender critical posts, the range of opinion amongst students is braoder than is made out by some people.
It can be a bit depressing reading threads about young peoples love lives and family issues though, despite all the PSHE at school, so many youngsters seem ill equipped to deal with sex and relationships and very unsure of what they should be feeling, thinking and doing.
I only went on it to do research on a particular uni but it's become a bit of a rabbit hole for me!

IAmInsignificunt · 15/08/2018 14:12

Is it like student Mumsnet?

Yes and hugely popular.

StealthNinjaMum · 15/08/2018 14:27

Of course now we've told TRAs about TSR they can expect an influx of TRAs criticising trying to silence every gender critical viewpoint.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 15/08/2018 14:30

My money is on the students.

howlsmovingcastle84 · 15/08/2018 15:01

Having recently left a uni teaching post I can honestly say that the number of times this issue came up at my uni was 0. We were a very, very (almost too much!) 'let's find out if the students are happy' uni-every staff meeting would revolve around 'let's look at the results from this focus group, student questionnaire, NSS results etc.' and it NEVER came up! The first time I discovered this whole thing was through mumsnet. We had a band new, shiny building opened just before I left-all toilets were your usual 'male' and 'female' , no signs telling you to use whichever one you wanted. No staff training, memos etc. Nothing.
Now, we were also a 'not quite so well known' uni (I imagine most people haven't heard of it!). We had a higher than average number of students from lower income backgrounds and widening participation routes (i.e. not the A level route). We were mostly a teaching uni but we had one department (out most popular and most successful) that did a lot of research and that was the sports department. I don't think they would have cheerfully gone down the TWAW line.
I think certain unis are pushing this along but I don't think its as wide as people might think.

Ereshkigal · 15/08/2018 15:57

I should like to buy the poster yudothis on that TSR thread a big drink Wine

Ereshkigal · 15/08/2018 16:00

Ha ha SwearyG. Brilliant!

That should be put on a poster

Seconded! That is GENIUS.

Vickyyyy · 15/08/2018 16:41

Interesting that the view of young people appears to be mainly GC. Mind, my brother who is currently at uni told me a while back that its just niche groups of students who believe trans ideology and the rest basically think 'female penises' and such are just bonkers.

I'm not disputing the fact they are entitled to believe they are male, female, a goldfish, attack helicopter or whatever. I do, however, take issue with someone demanding I have to agree with that opinion.

How bloody true.

MorbidMuch · 15/08/2018 16:43

I really liked this comment from ThomH.

Overall, I'm pleased to see so many sensible comments on that thread.

Ereshkigal · 15/08/2018 16:45

If not a poster definitely it's a great meme!

Ereshkigal · 15/08/2018 16:46

I can't make memes but someone else should!
