Burglar breaks into house, steals woman's clothes and .... Jeez

Police in Wigan appealed for information about a burglar who broke into a house, stole a woman's clothes, and dressed up in the garden. Whereupon he pleasured himself.

Some people might not give this case a second glance, but I would. The police describe the incident as Unusual. It's a bit more than that, officer.

It takes nerves of steel to be a burglar.

You risk someone seeing you breaking in, or being confronted by residents, alarms, neighbours and dogs.

It takes a warped mindset to target a particular property because you fancy the clothes of the woman who lives there. Did he follow her, just to see where she lived? Did he follow her for a few days to check out her style?

And finally, it is chilling how the burglar stayed within the bounds of the property to perform a sex act.

The man is a real and present danger. No wonder that the occupant and her family are distressed and beside themselves.

Oh and Dean was released on licence for those offences that they were convicted of back in 2009.

Was living at a bail hostel and got recalled for breaching licence conditions. Was returned to a male prison and that's when the so-called hunger strike began.

So Dean has already had an opportunity to go straight. Didn't take it.

I only know this because Dean's "supporters" were blabbing about it on the petition to get Dean moved to a women's prison.

Just as an aside, when I was digging into Jess Bradley's background (like you do), there were some references to someone called Taylor who is in prison with an IPP (Indeterminate Sentence for Public Protection). Bradley was one of the group who write to Taylor and send Taylor money in prison.

Seems to be Claire Taylor who was convicted of brandishing a knife, threatening to kill a 90 year old woman with dementia, then tying her up while Taylor robbed her.

link

Claire Taylor seems to be going by the name Taylor these days. TRAs saying that Taylor is trans and is masculine-presenting.

However, neither Taylor nor the TRAs are asking for a transfer to a male prison. Just that Taylor needs better treatment in the women's prison that they are in.

Just demonstrates the double standards, doesn't it?

TRA logic:

  • Male prisoner who identifies as a woman = must be moved to female prison otherwise it is de facto inhumane/degrading treatment
  • Female prisoner who identifies as a man = must stay in a women's prison

Planned, prepared, capable to extreme violence and using weapons

Yup, and The Guardian have been treating this pervert, who has subsequently decided to be trans, as some kind of martyr because the prison staff won't let h* have cosmetics, and have deliberately omitted the sexual predation aspect of h* crimes to drum up sympathy.

I used to get obscene phone calls when I lived in London 30 years ago. Very young women may have been lucky thus far, but I can't imagine many middle aged women haven't had at least one bad experience in the course of their lives.

It's not a funny topic, but I do have a funny story. Years ago when I was still living with my family, we were hanging around the kitchen one day, when the phone rang.

My sister picked it up, listened for a bit with a really puzzled expression, then put her hand over the mouth piece, handed the phone to my dad, saying, "I can't understand him". My Dad takes the phone, listens a bit and then yells, "You dirty bastard", and slams down the phone.

Turns out it was an obscene phone call, but the caller had such a strong, Scots accent, my teenage sister didn't understand a word.

I wonder how many journalists are members of the NUJ - extract from their code of conduct:

At all times upholds and defends the principle of media freedom, the right of freedom of expression and the right of the public to be informed.

Strives to ensure that information disseminated is honestly conveyed, accurate and fair.

Does her/his utmost to correct harmful inaccuracies.

Differentiates between fact and opinion.

This isn't poor reporting but journalism not fit for purpose - maybe they rationalise their unethical reporting by another point in the code of conduct :

Produces no material likely to lead to hatred or discrimination on the grounds of a person’s age, gender, race, colour, creed, legal status, disability, marital status, or sexual orientation.

Seems like telling the truth isn't considered a key competence for the job anymore

This guy needs locking up for life - he's such a danger to women and girls and will never change

theOtherPamAyres · 10/08/2018 21:15

It seems to me that the criminal justice system is not very good at responding to these types of crimes. They merit a crime of their own, in my opinion - and do not merit being hidden under innocuous titles classifications like "theft from washing line".

If they are not classed as sex offences then the perpetrators won't have to be put on the Sex Offenders Register. They will be burglars or thieves or they will have committed 'damage' to the items stolen. They will be sentenced as thieves and vandals rather than men who pose a serious risk to women and girls.

Perhaps we need a new sexual offence - like the upskirting one.

If you want to wear women's clothes, they are readily available for purchase. Stealing them and then masturbating in the yard is not just a fetish but a threat.

I agree Dance.

Boundary violation is what they get off on.

Like this one, Col Russell Williams, started off voyeur, then B&E stealing and selfie-ing in the underwear, then rape and murder.

It would be nice if these things were taken more seriously, rather than a giggle and "that's a bit naughty, hah hah".

Like flashers. I always thought that they were funny because they were sent up in so many comedy/variety shows ... until I saw one.

It is treated like that isn't it. Most people's response would be 'ew, what a weirdo' whilst thinking the man wasn't causing much harm. That attitude feels too ingrained to change but it does need to change. Perhaps useful to comment oin online news reports of this type, reiterating the stats and psychological research that shows men displaying this behaviour typically escalate to crimes with more horrific consequences.

TerfsUp · 12/08/2018 10:01

Hey, now. According to the Pink News umbrella, the alleged burglar is just a sweet, harmless, victimised, misunderstood trans and y'all are bigots.
