Paedophile expert warns of transitioning as a ploy

Sorry that it's the Sun, but this article succinctly highlights the danger of allowing sex offenders to transition.

Women are not seen as dangers to children in the same way men are so what a good idea to become one.

The mother of a victim is calling for the law to prevent this.

I agree Vicky, but looking for specific guidelines re safeguarding practices.

I find it extremely concerning that the advice given gender issues would be to deliberately alienate children from their parents. And where parents do know and are concerned, 'local authorities' should be involved, presumably to kick the parents into touch. It's horrifying.

This is LGBT Youth Scotland. It wasn't endorsed by the Scottish Govt although LGBT Youth said it was and had to retract the 'error' some months later. The Scottish Government tried to introduce a 'Named person' scheme where every child in scotland has a person looking after their 'interests'. It was met by widespead criticism and has been kicked into the long grass, at least for the time being. They seem to have a very authoritarian appraoch to children's welfare where the parents' opinions are a side issue. It's very concerning.

The transgender guidelines for Cornwall schools guidelines have this insidious little paragraph:
It must be recognised that people have their own prejudices. A parent or guardian may not always be the most supportive or appropriate person to assist the young person through transitioning. It may not be necessary for a parent or guardian to provide permission for a Trans pupil or student to take steps to transition as there may be issues raised of Fraser competence if parents will not consent

There you are - parental rights / responsibilities removes in an instant by Trans groups. The rest of the us know that parental responsibility is only ever removed following extensive legal process. But Trans groups appear happy to remove parental authority / responsibility on their own say so - no legal concerns or multi agency work involved - presumably just the decision of the 'Trans expert'

The other place to look is at the GIRES website - they have an e learning module about working with gender non conforming young people. If you work through the modules again you will find parents being positioned as having "the wrong " responses to various issues about their children as well as their professionally dangerous advice to adults working with children about keeping confidences and conducting risk assessments on children about their mental health that the adult is not competent to make.

Society only ever removes parental responsibilities via the courts. But trans groups advocate parental alienation without any hesitation. Unbelievably arrogant and so dangerous for children left marooned with no family or parental support. And the government doesn't seem to give a damn.

It would be incredibly useful for those who have experience of safeguarding to post links and citations of safeguarding practice that these guidelines directly contravene.

It is much more effective when writing to MPs etc to be able to provide concrete evidence.

If anyone has safeguarding info that relates specifically to Scotland that would be amazing.

womanspeaking · 02/08/2018 18:33

I'll try and put some links up tomorrow.
The levels of arrogance and lack of knowledge / care about safeguarding tends to run through many of the guidelines / publications but when you trawl through them, there they are - parental alienation and flouting Working Together.

LemonJello · 02/08/2018 18:45

Thank you woman. I’ve pm’d you too. Does Working Together apply in Scorland?

I am extremely concerned that this 'Charter' is being introduced into schools in Scotland by stealth. Few would object to an 'LBGT Charter' as most are not homophobic. The trans agenda is quite another thing. It appears to promote gender questioning as fact and seeks to alientate the children from their parents. I would say that very very few parents are aware of this document and of the aims of LGBT Youth Scotland. By the time they might become aware, this organisation will have indoctrinated thousands of children and persuaded them that they are trans, and as a consequence, to take puberty blockers, cross sex hormones and poss surgery which will have life changing effects on these young people.

It's a scandal of such magnitude not seen until now. Utterly terrifying.

If somebody changes their sex does their new name show up on a CBS? What about all of their crimes - will they all be linked together?

Angryresister · 02/08/2018 21:31

In the past I came across sex offenders who had changed their names by deed poll and I was told this by the police..quite informally in those years. Been out of the field for a long time but there are just so many red flags here...

scotsheather · 02/08/2018 21:51

If it was true this would become the new vogue among sex pests, but I would think someone changing their name for any reason will be treated the same in regards to registering with police and authorities. The trail will always be there, on paper at least.

Wonder why men are considered more of a danger than ourselves.

Working Together applies to England. This is the overview of safeguarding children in Scotland:
scotgov.publishingthefuture.info/publication/the-national-guidance-for-child-protection-in-scotland-2014

I've only glanced at but it seems to share the same standards as Working Together in terms of information sharing and working with parents which would suggest the Scottish guidelines that are being discussed are also undermining safeguarding children in Scotland. And as in England, both governments are silent and complicit with this.

BraveAndStunning · 28/08/2018 19:28

The Scottish GRA Consultation responses from Edinbugh, Orkney (and I think) Aberdeen councils includes mentions of enforcing the Named Person legislation such that, where a parent does not fully accept the gender questioning of a child, the Named person takes authority over the child. Not only has the Named Person legislation not been passed, but this is an entirely new use and horrifying use of the proposed legislation.

The SNP have a lot to answer for. I actually used to support many of their policies, despite hovering on the fence re IndyRef. No more.
