Paedophile expert warns of transitioning as a ploy

BlytheByName · 02/08/2018 08:01

Sorry that it's the Sun, but this article succinctly highlights the danger of allowing sex offenders to transition.

Women are not seen as dangers to children in the same way men are so what a good idea to become one.

The mother of a victim is calling for the law to prevent this.

TGBT School Document

www.lgbtyouth.org.uk/media/1344/supporting-transgender-young-people.pdf

Parents of children not inforned re sharing rooms
"Good practice If a transgender young person wants to share a room with other young people who share their gender identity, they should be able to do so"
If a transgender young person is sharing a room with their peers,
there is no reason for parents or carers of the other young people to be informed "

Parents of gender questioning children not told of 'confidences' in teachers'
" A transgender young person may not have told their family
about their gender identity. Inadvertent disclosure could cause needless stress for the young person or could put them at risk. Therefore, it is best to not disclose information to parents or carers without the young person's permission "

" Only in exceptional circumstances would a school need to give information about a young person's transition to other parents. This would require the permission of the young person or their parent(s)/carer(s)/legal guardian(s) (if under 16)"

There is no choice for parents but to adopt the approach outlined in the Charter
"Although, increasingly, parents and carers are supportive, some may react negatively at first. Sometimes this is because they have inaccurate or incomplete information about transgender identities or because they are worried about what it will mean for their child's future. Such reactions often stem from loving, and wanting to protect, their child.
If parents/carers are struggling to come to terms with their child's identity, teachers should make sure that there is a plan to support the young person in school. It may also be useful to approach the local authority for additional guidance. "

How is this protecting children? By imposing an ideology by stealth and not informing parents is they are sharing a room with a person of the opposite sex, or if their parent is confiding gender issues to a teacher. What makes the teachers God? Isn't this open season for abusive teachers to flourish?

@ThatDoctorEM

I'm going to start a separate thread re Social Work as think its very important.

LemonJello · 02/08/2018 11:16

The problem is, if your ideology is such that “transgirls are girls” then there can be no impact to assess. After all, one wouldn’t do an impact assessment on a girl using the girls changing room, would one?

To do any impact assessment would be to make a distinction, and would be saying transgirls are not girls. And we can’t be having that now! So let’s not bother and just say we’re sure it will be fine, sweep it all under the rug, don’t look under the rug, I said don’t look under the rug STAY AWAY FROM THE RUG...TRANSPHOBIA!!!!

What were we talking about again?

ThatDoctorEM · 02/08/2018 11:16

LangCleg yes, yes, yes!

The affirmation only approach and general secrecy is having a disasterous impact on safeguarding. This is a big concern, that there is no process or proposed process of preventing abuser infiltration.

I saw a social worker describe the current situation as 'shades of Rotherham' a few days ago.

VickyEadie · 02/08/2018 11:17

"If it became an official policy position they should do an EQIA and I'm sure it would show that there isn't any negative impact on other pupils," he said.

I've been involved in EQIAs for schools. Here are just a few of the questions I'd expect to ask here:

  1. Would allowing boys to change and shower alongside girls involve risk of invasion of privacy for girls?
  1. Would allowing boys to change and shower alongside girls involve risk of exposure of girls to exposure of male genitals? How might this affect them?
  1. Would allowing boys to change and shower alongside girls involve risk of sexual assault?
  1. Would allowing boys to play sports with girls involve risk of injury to the girls?
  1. Would allowing boys to play sports with girls involve risk of damaging girls' self-esteem and lead them not to want to participate?

Hey - I'm sure it would show there is "negative impact on other pupils".

R0wantrees · 02/08/2018 11:18

@LangCleg have you seen the 'Trans Youth in Care Toolkit' ?

VickyEadie · 02/08/2018 11:19

"Good practice If a transgender young person wants to share a room with other young people who share their gender identity, they should be able to do so"
If a transgender young person is sharing a room with their peers,
there is no reason for parents or carers of the other young people to be informed "

This section alone ought to have heads and governors slinging the entire document straight into the bin. WHO in their right mind would think this was anything other than alarming?

Ereshkigal · 02/08/2018 11:20

Ultimately, what needs to be challenged, before anything else, is that exploring impact on others is not 'hostile towards trans people'.

This in 90 foot neon lights.

TransplantsArePlants · 02/08/2018 11:23

Some great stuff on this thread

Thank you

LemonJello · 02/08/2018 11:24

Ultimately, what needs to be challenged, before anything else, is that exploring impact on others is not 'hostile towards trans people'

But it is. Because by definition, it involves splitting the population into the trans people and the people who aren’t trans. And you can’t assess impact on women as a separate group of transwomen ARE women. The ideology forbids it.

BraveAndStunning · 02/08/2018 11:25

Vicky

What is clear from the document is that it is entirely about the transgender issues and no LGB concerns at all. They throw a few comments in about being gay, but it is clear that it is not the focus of the document, or indeed the project. This is simply about indoctrinating children and teachers re the transgender idology, and doing it by stealth in not informing the parents. It's a fucking scandal.

They also have sections on how breast binders can be 'positive' while at the same time acknowledging that they can cause shortness of breath. It makes me so angry that they are encouraging girls to wear these contraptions which cause active harm and destroy their healthy young bodies.

LangCleg · 02/08/2018 11:25

This is a big concern, that there is no process or proposed process of preventing abuser infiltration.

Yes. We might as well be painting a target on the backs of gender questioning children. I cannot understand the trans lobby groups that are creating these risks to their own.

And that's before we get to the feminist case about the impact on girls.

LemonJello · 02/08/2018 11:25

If transwomen ARE women

LangCleg · 02/08/2018 11:29

@LangCleg have you seen the 'Trans Youth in Care Toolkit' ?

Yes. I'm so worried about the wholesale disregarding of established child protection frameworks right across institutions and organisations generally, I've lost sleep. It doesn't help to remember that all these institutions have also been hollowed out by austerity.

Bowlofbabelfish · 02/08/2018 11:31

Modern day corsets.

FloralBunting · 02/08/2018 11:32

I am mildly stunned that this thread still exists. It's exactly the kind of thing that has gone zap in the past, for opaque reasons.

Agastache · 02/08/2018 11:33

Will Mumsnet be reinstating all the users that were banished for pointing this out in the past weeks?

Because I was suspended under a different user name for a week for pointing out the tactics being used.

I haven't been reinstated - I respected the week's suspension and rejoined when it was clear that MNHQ were not going to bother to reinstate me.

And yet since, we have a trans government adviser on trans issues, being suspended and under investigation for flashing their penis and paedophilia on their blog, and a paedophile expert warning of the dangers - and yet if you point it out on here you get a suspension or a ban.

Sort yourselves out MNHQ.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 02/08/2018 15:25

Weirdly I was in a high school changing room this morning. Very modern building (they all seem to be built to the same plan in central scotland).

It struck me that there is no way anyone would look at that changing room & think it was mixed sex - all cubicles including the showers but long walk in a towel from the showers, the cubicles have large gaps at top & bottom & cubicles can be easily opened from the outside (i consider those to be safety features).

I very much hope there are no trans identifying boys at that school :-(

womanspeaking · 02/08/2018 16:03

So pleased to see this thread. Another one here who has worked for years with safeguarding and schools and has been involved with a number of cases of paedophiles in schools, nurseries and voluntary organisations. I've worked in a school where we discovered that a very popular teacher was a paedophile, had abused one child and was evidently grooming a second.
I've written to my MP repeatedly about the dangers and had ridiculous responses , obviously written by according to the trans rulebook and all ignoring the clear evidence of undermining safeguarding. It's a complete disgrace.

BlytheByName · 02/08/2018 16:39

Surely the next work we need to do, in terms of letter writing and lobbying, is organisations that work with children.
Is there a human right that covers the safeguarding of children?
Can we use an existing law to put pressure on organisations?
Is there a way we can accuse schools and orgs like girl guiding of failing to protect children?
We could crowdfund for legal action.

This should be the next big push after the deadline for the GRA consultation and the best group to do that are mumsnet in my opinion.

Agreed BlytheByName
Of course, trans organisations have targeted schools, education and the NHS so the resistance will be significant. Even the bloody National Association of Headteachers has a trans policy telling women teachers to use other toilets if they don't like sharing with "self ID women". You can tell that the writers must all be white and middle class with no experience of working in multi faith schools.

Can you advise/point me to the guidelines for safeguarding with respect to children being encouraged to share confidences with adults, but the information kept from their parents, where the confidence is not related to suspicion of abuse?

I am very concerned about the guidleines issued in Scotland re parents not being told about confidences being kept secret re gender issues. Also, surely there is a safeguarding issue in parents not being told that their child is sharing accomodation with a hild of the opposite sex?

Speaking as someone very involved in safeguarding for children for many years, both of these bits of "guidance" are massive red flags for me. You have to ask - why would they include in their "guidance" that parents 'need not be told'?

Am I the only one who finds even the new name chosen inappropriate?
Christyl Knight sounds remarkably similar to Kristallnacht. Its not just a first name change, it sounds like this is deliberate
