We need to march. We just do.

Where else?

Anywhere. Outside prominent events. See Stonewall party this week. The loos are a clearly relevant place though and even more relevant depending which loos, and not so easy to police. I think it's a good tactic generally.

I'm active on Twitter, but very conscious that 'complaints' or doxxing will impact on my job.
I'd love to leaflet anywhere (toilets etc) to educate more people.
I struggle with the things I've seen on social media, especially things that relate to 'I have autism' as an explanation from people in positions of 'power' with no previous reference to having been diagnosed. It's my area of work, and I hate to see the confusion in the people I work with.
Would appreciate a PM regarding the other place!

TheBiologicalWoman · 18/07/2018 22:51

I will try libraries and toilets and maybe buses.

In my town you reach the teens in Nandos but not sure I can sneak them inside the menu! Grin

For parents, swimming pools and leisure centre changing rooms, community centres, coffee shops.

Will look at a WPUK website for resources/ideas but hoping for some ideas for bullet points from more experienced MN feminism posters.

Me too. It's hard because I would like to do more. I do all I can and I can drop a few leaflets.

Oh yes.

Writersblock2 · 18/07/2018 23:20

A targeted social media campaign would help, most definitely.

Floorplan · 18/07/2018 23:59

We need Biology Party candidates in the elections or maybe fund some women's place candidates?

I have written to my MP, but the subject is vast so and cannot really be dealt with in a short snappy letter which is likely to produce results and not be put on the mad woman pile.

Some people sent postcards to Bercow recently. If there were any clever graphic designers here as well as witty women like ManFriday we could have a postcard campaign which people could download and send to their MPs, councillors, members of the house of Lords dealing with different aspects, changing rooms, toilets, prisons, hospital wards, AWSs. Some could be hard hitting and play to emotions, some funny.

It would be something relatively easy to do which lots of people could do.

Floorplan · 19/07/2018 23:58

That's a good idea. We need to mass print some.

SandyDraws on Twitter would be great for postcards...

BlackeyedSusan · 20/07/2018 00:50

And for stickers. Funny cartoon with a message. You are going to read it and the message will go in.

UglyCathKidstonBag · 20/07/2018 03:06

If you do leaflets make sure you explain what a transwoman/man is because most people have no idea. Most people think a trans woman is a woman who wants to become a man.

theOtherPamAyres · 20/07/2018 04:05

Party Conferences are a good place to picket, imaginatively:

There's Media saturation coverage, not London-centric but a good spread across the country; exposure to constituency activists, councillors, and MPs. A good picket/demonstration may prove to be a welcome distraction from the interminable Brexit impasse.

Every single party supports the trans ideology. All of them. Their supporters may think differently.

Lib Dems - end of September in Brighton
Labour - third week in September, Liverpool
Conservative - end of September, Birmingham
Green Party, first week October, Bristol
Womens Equality Party, early September, Kettering
Plaid Cymru - tba
TUC - early Sept Manchester
(No Autumn Conferences in Scotland that I know of - they are in the Spring)

UKIP - cubicle 2, gents lavatories, behind the bike sheds.... nah, only kidding.

Suffragette sashes, leaflets and stickers would be needed soonish. And street perfomers. And boyfriends in drag. Sorry, getting carried away......

Pratchet · 20/07/2018 04:46

Pam : yes, picketing and leafleting party conferences. Leaflets saying: these politicians believe that a 100 per cent male parliament would mean progress. Do you agree?

In a civilised country it would be a front page talking point that its oldest and foremost women's organisation believes a 100 per cent male parliament would be a good thing.

UglyCathKidstonBag · 20/07/2018 04:59

Maybe the local guides meeting would be a good place to pop a few on cars?

Great idea. Let's do it.

SandyDraws on Twitter would be great for postcards..

Of course yes! Genius. Any materials we need a touch of biting satirical humour for.

moimichme · 20/07/2018 08:49

For the leaflets/postcards/printing, does anyone know how to create those little images that link to a website, so it could perhaps have one for FPFW, WNTT, GenderTrender, etc. resources for more information - or a really good article about what's at stake for safeguarding children, women and other vulnerable people? Need to be careful not to make it seem like the leaflet 'represents' any other groups officially, but now there is so much GC stuff out there that is clear and which could help people to better understand the issues.

Ereshkigal · 20/07/2018 08:52

You mean a QR code? I think it's fairly straightforward.

Ariclock · 20/07/2018 09:07

I think stickers with slogans on might work like #stop the erosion of women's rights or #protect women's sports or #women need female only spaces. It'll need to be eye catching and being a sticker means it's easier to put them up quickly and anonymously.

ReluctantCamper · 20/07/2018 09:39

i am watching this with interest

i'm darn sarf, would cheerfully use up some of my paltry leave allowance to picket the lib dems, conservatives or womens equality (hah!) party

haven't got the experience / bandwidth to organise, but totally up for being a foot soldier

Me too. I have a lot of unused leave to take.
