Fair Play for Women has exposed a scandal, an act of sabotage against women. Please read it for the details.

Straight women's voices have been screened out on the National LBGT survey. Penny Mordaunt is basing the consultation on the GRA on deliberate false information.

If you are not totally shocked then you should be. Ministers and others should resign over this. Dishonesty has no place in Law making.

RatRolyPoly · 13/07/2018 18:30

Yeeeees, but then why did Penny Mordaunt use it as evidence in the GRA consultation impact assessment to show lack of opposition?

In what way is she using it as evidence to show lack of opposition? In what way is that the context in which it appears?

The impact assessment specifically talks about the impact on sex segregated spaces and implies only a small number of respondents raised concerns.

It doesn't imply that, a small number of respondents did raise concerns! The number is small, it's a small number.

TransplantsArePlants · 13/07/2018 18:51

RTFT.

Sarahconnor1 · 13/07/2018 18:54

Only because they ignored lots of responses.

placemats · 13/07/2018 19:00

I put myself down as prefer not to say because I knew that women would be screened out.

Why aren't heterosexual men screened out?

Wanderabout · 13/07/2018 19:14

If you are going to raise the issue of sex segregation then you have to consider responses from all that are impacted otherwise it's just bullshit.

Exactly.

It's like proposing a law that all women have to give men 10% of their income and only asking the men if they see a problem with it.

misscockerspaniel · 13/07/2018 19:15

Are you surprised? Really?

The Government said that they would (after a lot of prompting) consult with women. They have put in writing that they consulted with women's groups before they launched the latest GRA consultation. Although with whom they actually consulted appears to be a complete mystery and given their definition of woman, could be any Tom, Dick or Harry.

Use your annoyance and anger. Get as many people as possible to complete the latest consultation and take the Government at face value. Complete it using your views, knowledge and experience as a woman. And given their wide-definition of the word woman, return the favour. Give their questions a wide remit. Let them know your real opinions.

placemats · 13/07/2018 19:16

Straight women, unless they are trans or intersex, fell outside of the target population for the survey.

Hi Snappity Presumably straight men did too.

Can you explain to me what Lesbian, Gay and Bisexuality has to do with the Gender Recognition Act?

Lesbian = Female homosexual - sexual relations with same biological sex
Gay = Male homosexual - sexual relations with same biological sex

Bisexual = - sexual relations with same sex or opposite sex or the following:
Lesbian
Gay
Heterosexual

Heterosexual = someone who has a relationship with the opposite sex.

Male who transitions to be a woman and only wants sexual relationships with a woman is: heterosexual.

Female who transitions to be a man and only wants sexual relationships with a woman is: lesbian.

Pratchet · 13/07/2018 19:18

That is such a scandal. The whole meyhodology was designed by transadvocates - it's worth no more than eight out of ten owners say their cats prefer it. Designed to marketise a policy. Shameful.

placemats · 13/07/2018 19:25

Oh and just in case you wondered Snappity why I put heterosexual into the Bisexual, there are bisexual men who will have sex with heterosexual women, without those women's knowledge that they are bisexual.

Does it matter if a bisexual woman has sex with a heterosexual man though? Snappity

placemats · 13/07/2018 19:33

Obviously heterosexual males don't give a fig about having sex with a woman who has already had sex with a man.

Obviously heterosexual females would not like having sex with a man who has had sex with other men.

Obviously gays will never have sex with a woman who transitions to a man, even though trans men are men.

Obviously lesbians will never have sex with a man who transitions to a woman, even though trans women are women.

RatRolyPoly · 13/07/2018 20:08

I have RTFT, it seems it's you two who didn't read my earlier posts.

The woman should have written "a small humber of the LGBT respondents to the LGBT survey". Hang her from the castle gates.

Christ, you folks might want to try reading what I've written before jumping on me; I'm tired of making you look silly.

Absolutely. Or the shampoo/cosmetics ads that say x% said it worked and when you look it is x% of less than a hundred.

If they only have 39 responses, they should go out and find some more. A primary school could have done better.

garam · 13/07/2018 20:30

It was for lgbt people, I thought all lesbians were concerned about trans rights?

Either there are only 39 lesbians in the uk, or only 39 who want to get the L out....... either way, that is quite illuminating of some of the propaganda that rears it's head on here.

placemats · 13/07/2018 20:44

Garam are all trans people concerned about Lesbian rights?

garam · 13/07/2018 21:12

according to some threads on here, all lesbians unite against trans women..... because trans women erase lesbians.

I'm saying that seems to be quite false.

Wanderabout · 13/07/2018 21:21

Lesbians have different opinions. They are not a group speaking with one voice as Stonewall pretends.

That survey is not representative of, nor trying to listen to, the wide range of lesbian views on whether a man should be considered a lesbian/men should be allowed in women's changing rooms etc etc anymore than Stonewall or political LGBT groups are.

Ereshkigal · 13/07/2018 23:01

Absolutely. Or the shampoo/cosmetics ads that say x% said it worked and when you look it is x% of less than a hundred.

Or the suicide attempt stats that implied the 48% or whatever was nearly 1000 out of 2000 when it was actually 15 out of 27 of a self selected group.

No surprise from me that they did this.

theOtherPamAyres · 14/07/2018 00:56

The scandal is that there was no consultation on the protected characteristic of sex.

Does anyone believe that the proposals will have no impact on the Equality Act? Really?

The Impact Assessment as a whole is very thin on supporting evidence but makes a lot of wishful assertions. It's not what I would expect as a briefing for Parliament.

foxyliz26 · 14/07/2018 01:10

We must all complete the consultation documents if you oppose self ID as many lesbians do say so
but we are not against Transsexuals who are old school both ways

the only things that concerns some of us Out Lesbians , is old friends becoming gay men after they have transitioned
its like a death in the family

LookTwoFingers · 14/07/2018 01:34

This doctor claims they won't talk and have to report each other, it's a sinister government that ends in this situation.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5952625/Christian-doctor-fired-saying-people-choose-gender-reveals-speak-out.html

miri1985 · 14/07/2018 03:27

If all straight people were screened out like it seems like they've excluded a certain proportion of trans or intersex people too who this consultation is supposed to listen to, right?

EeveePHD · 14/07/2018 04:26

I answered it and pretty much said lower the restrictions and do away with Gender Recognition Panels. Show some form of commitment to your transition such as being on the list for a Gender Identity Clinic or be on Hormonal treatment. I mentioned that the period of commitment shown from the 2 years nonsense should be from when a diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria is given to when an application is granted/refused.

I also said that there will always be the unfortunate incidents of idiotic men trying to abuse this system but there needs to be robust checks in place by law enforcement to deal with these men. This system is no joke and should not be taken for granted. Severe fines imposed or if necessary what a court decides is appropriate.

For the question to do with employers and trans employees specifically to do with midwives I said that there are no jobs men can't do that a woman can't however a birth is a very special and intimate moment for a family and their comfort comes first.

If they aren't comfortable with a trans midwife then another should come in and take over. The mother is paramount in that situation. At least to me. In a situation like that a trans woman would need thicker skin and just get on with the job elsewhere.

One of the first few questions I think asked you to describe a personal experience of how the proposed GRC would be beneficial. I said it would be easier for me as currently I would need to get my Birth Certificate from Australia and that currently I cannot do as the required identification as mentioned on the Australian Government website I am unable to obtain as I am not an Australian Citizen.

Cutting the beaurocracy would aid me to get the GRC that would allow me to change my passport, bank details and update details with civil authorities.

Pratchet · 14/07/2018 04:37

Well that's definitely worth women and girls losing safety and privacy.

EeveePHD · 14/07/2018 04:41

Well that's definitely worth women and girls losing safety and privacy.

If it won't stop a determined pervert after the final GRA draft is implemented it most certainly won't stop them now anyway. These people should be fined heavily or dealt with to the fullest extent of the law.
