Any lesbians feeling a tad battered and deflated?

Or is it just me?

Just read some plonker on Twitter saying that lesbians are just “femininity attracted to femininity”. Makes me sad and angry.

I listen to lesbians and a lot of them are saying the same thing. Trans supporters on this forum say that its bigoted to say lesbian = female homosexual.

Hannah Gadsby in her stand up ''Nanette'' tells how she has been pressured to come out as a trans man. ''You owe it to your community to come out as transgender'', 18 minutes in.

Live and let live

We would if they would but they won't so we don't
No is a complete sentence.

Have you even been on the LGBT pages?

99%of people are disgusted at this behaviour

LGBTQ should be a community full of support.
This is transphobic. Plain and simple.

I just love it when people who actually use the internet, and are aware of it's ubiquitous influence on our whole culture, dismiss the 'zillions' of voices on it pushing this anti-lesbian narrative.

"It's only online," they say. "It's not real life."

Try telling my children that the internet is an irrelevance. They may get ansty about the power of Google, but they're all still using it to search up every new term they hear.

Sorry guys, the TRAs who live and hunt on Twitter and YouTube are extremely influential, from the teens and tweens in their bedrooms to the government ministers seeking votes.

As a queer woman I'll stand by my trans sisters way before I'll stand by a bigoted lesbian.

Watching with interest

As ive no idea anymore what 'woman' and 'queer' mean

HolidayNoWay · 09/07/2018 22:30

Queer- under the lgbtq umbrella
Woman- I identify as female

HolidayNoWay · 09/07/2018 22:31

Just my opinion. Next queer woman could give a completely different answer

FloralBunting · 09/07/2018 22:31

'bigoted lesbian'. Let me take a wild stab in the dark... Does that mean a lesbian who insists lesbians are born female homosexual women who should, in no circumstances feel under any remote pressure to receive a penis, even if said penis is attached to a person who sincerely believes themselves to be a woman?

UpstartCrow · 09/07/2018 22:31

Then why not start your own support thread, this one is for lesbians.

HolidayNoWay · 09/07/2018 22:33

You all remind me of racists who said black people shouldn't sit down on the bus

Only it's trans women and locker rooms now

Hopefully one day you'll be ashamed of your vehaviour

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 09/07/2018 22:34

just about everyone is under that umbrella

And 'identify as a female' means literally nothing

HolidayNoWay · 09/07/2018 22:34

I am a lesbian. Hmm

Pretty sure my wife agrees

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 09/07/2018 22:35

Locker rooms?

HolidayNoWay · 09/07/2018 22:35

How very inclusionary of you.

FloralBunting · 09/07/2018 22:36

Oh right, we're playing TRA bingo, are we? I've forgotten my stampy pen this evening, but my card now has 'you're as bad as racists' on it. How's everyone else doing?

FloralBunting · 09/07/2018 22:36

Locker rooms? Wtf?

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 09/07/2018 22:37

Lesbian doesnt mean what i thought it did...goodness knows what it neans now

Writersblock2 · 09/07/2018 22:38

How does one identify as female? You feel like you have an affinity with ova?

UpstartCrow · 09/07/2018 22:38

Maybe go read about Sister Rosa Parks before misquoting what happened and dragging it into a debate about women's rights.

HolidayNoWay · 09/07/2018 22:38

I'm baffled to why you don't think I'm a lesbian Confused

UpstartCrow · 09/07/2018 22:39
