Finally an MP has had the courage and integrity to ask that women's voices be heard in the debate about the GRA reform. She also highlights the unacceptable abuse women and others raising any concerns about how other vulnerable groups might be affected.

Thank you Caroline Flint this means a lot.

More Labour MPs may grow a spine now.

Huge thanks to Caroline. Flowers

Thank you for speaking up Caroline.

On the other side, Margot James tweeted something encouraging earlier this year

BabyItsAWildWorld · 03/07/2018 23:02

Thank you Caroline.
You are speaking for women we are with you.

Could we create a real ground swell of public ways to support Caroline to show MPs women will be with them if they speak out?

Could we have a campaign to all call her office and thank her?
All tweet at her?

IAmLurkacus · 03/07/2018 23:29

Well done Caroline! There may be hope for the Labour Party yet!

Voice0fReason · 04/07/2018 22:55

Thank you Caroline. Don't let this one go.

MrsFogi · 04/07/2018 23:12

Bravo Caroline. Now we need a few more politicians with balls (lady-balls or man-balls, I don't care) to speak out.

I know someone upthread said it's terrible that we have to be so grateful. I get what you say.

But actually, I think we're recognising the flicker of a flame, that has been lit by the radfems/GC women/Fairplay/Let a Woman Speak/WPUK/Transgender Trend/and so many others who are all providing kindling and sparks right now.

To warm the flame that potentially more and more visible vocal public figures will help to ignite. Caroline has taken the spark lit by others, and is helping to grow the fire. I think it's important to recognise that.

We're not being prostrate, grateful-fuelled little women - we're recognising that the spark and the kindling is starting to take light.

And all those who provided that base should be very, very proud.

To the light that will not burn out.

...

I’ll happily say something disoblinging about her if it protects the thread.

Caroline smells.

There you go Smile

sistermorphine · 05/07/2018 00:51

Respect to Caroline for her stance here but all the disrespect to her and other female labour councillors in the don valley who did very little in the way of attempting to convince the labour council (who have over 5 million in reserve funds) to continue to fund doncaster/south yorkshire women's aid, leaving the borough with no specialised womens only DV service. She's a 'Blairite' through and through and says herself that she's not afraid of admitting it.

Fucksgiven · 05/07/2018 00:51

Fucking tell em Cat. Caants. How's Alfie?

Battleax · 05/07/2018 00:52

Yes it was Angela Eagle. She seemed to be taking issue with the Flint’s assertion that there have been attacks and insults directed at women. So she’s deep in denial.

LondonPainter · 05/07/2018 01:00

Caroline wrote a GC article in the Standard (followed by plenty of abuse, of course) and I’m delighted to hear this.

Thank you Caroline Flowers

@pombear

I wasn’t saying it in a bitchy way, I’m just so stunned and sad that it’s come to this. I just don’t y sweat and how we’ve got to this. And yes, I am bloody grateful! For all the folk fighting and sticking heads over parapets.

OrdinaryGirl · 07/07/2018 07:06

Thank you Caroline.

And to the PP who made the point that 'you can't identify into a protected characteristic.' - this is a very succinct way of putting it, and I will use it in the future. Thanks

SirVixofVixHall · 07/07/2018 14:10

Yvette Cooper and Jess Phillips should be speaking out on this, Jess is very involved in helping women who have been victims of male violence isn’t she ?

Lottapianos · 07/07/2018 17:13

Yes they should SirVix. We need as many voices as possible on side
