Finally an MP has had the courage and integrity to ask that women's voices be heard in the debate about the GRA reform. She also highlights the unacceptable abuse women and others raising any concerns about how other vulnerable groups might be affected.

Thank you Caroline Flint this means a lot.

I am not on Twitter, it would be nice if Caroline was made aware of the support here for her.

Bowlofbabelfish · 03/07/2018 17:29

I think it won't take many to speak out on this before others do - from what we’ve heard, there are many MPs who are uneasy with this proposed change. They’re probably all terrified of putting their heads above the parapet but if a few MPs do, I think it will gather speed.

I’m heartened to see Caroline speaking out. Now, let’s see some of the others have the courage of their convictions.

OunceOfFlounce · 03/07/2018 17:37

Very brave of her and greatly appreciated.

FlippinFumin · 03/07/2018 17:43

Good on Caroline. Flowers

Wanderabout · 03/07/2018 17:48

Someone heckled her for asking the Minister for Women not to forget to consider the impact of any changes in law on women's hard-earned rights, and to condemn the abuse women have suffered for daring to speak up about it?

If that is actually true I'd really like to know who did it. Because that's quite astonishing.

If it is true, I hope the press out them.

on youtube

Penny: 'those concerns raised by women's groups are entirely legitimate'

WeirdScenesInsideTheGoldmine · 03/07/2018 18:16

Isn’t it terrible that we’re all so grateful!

Pratchet · 03/07/2018 18:17

Oh come on Penny. Repeal the GRA. Sort it out.

TerfsUp · 03/07/2018 18:19

Thank you, Caroline. You are a shining star.

LittleBearPad · 03/07/2018 18:32

Was rather depressing hearing Penny Mordaunt on Radio 4 this morning. Apparently women can have a say at the end of the consultation. Not for some reason during it?

AnOpinion · 03/07/2018 18:36

Was it Eagle that heckled? Shock

IfNot · 03/07/2018 18:38

That's interesting. I saw her on the Wright Stuff once (yes I'm that intellectual) and she seemed like a normal person, like, someone you might be mates with, which is strange for an MP!
Good for her. Shame she's not leader instead of Uncle Knobhead.

NeverLovedElvis · 03/07/2018 18:38

Thank you Caroline.

Lottapianos · 03/07/2018 18:41

'CF has long been a GC voice in Parliament - and long may it continue'

Bloody good for her. Now please, FFS, let others join her in calling out this utter madness

BonjourMinou · 03/07/2018 18:42

Come on MPs stand up for women like Caroline Flint!

Don't pretend you believe humans can change sex.

Don't pretend you can identify into a protected characteristic.

Wake up.

Stop allowing lies to trip out of your mouth.

The future of women and girls is at stake.

ShowOfHands · 03/07/2018 19:18

Hurrah for that woman.

I agree. Come on Yvette, and Jess Phillips, and Anna Soubry, and Heidi Alexander, and Danielle Rowley who spoke about period poverty the other day. Where are you all?! Stand up for us!
