Should we march?

What would it take to make a decent number of women join a public demonstration in London calling for an end to this nonsense? Just how nonsensical would it have to get for you individually to attend such a March?

I'm not as well informed as a lot of these posters, I'm not sure exactly what might happen in Parliament today. I'm getting scared. Should I be scared? If I should be scared I think we need to march.

I've just starting reading the GRA consultation.

Confused

I would definitely march.

Ereshkigal · 03/07/2018 22:35

I will march but I don't think we've reached the right moment yet.

ChattyLion · 03/07/2018 22:39

I’ll march.

Vicky1990 · 03/07/2018 22:42

Can someone tell me what this march is about.

MacaroonMama · 03/07/2018 22:50

I was thinking this just today! Yes I will march. We need to broaden the focus as much as possible - parents of both sexes, other concerned parties.

Sorry I have had a bit too much wine tonight with the bloody consultation being launched but YES to a summer march sometime before the consultation needs to be done? September?

How’s about we recreate the suffragettes? It’s been 100 years.

This on the other hand, is more likely to catch the media's attention IMO.

I agree....

OrchidInTheSun · 04/07/2018 00:06

I will Mach

OrchidInTheSun · 04/07/2018 00:07

Ffs I deleted my first post because it autocorrected to a leading cap on March. Now it's changed to Mach.

I WILL MARCH

That's better

ManFriday is alive and thriving .... and attracting more "blokes" by the day....

I'm ready to man up for this fight!

SweetGrapes · 04/07/2018 07:44

Ready to march but we may not get enough people.

I think an indicator of numbers is probably this petition on hearing women's voices

Right now we should try and more people to sign this while there is still time.

ChattyLion · 04/07/2018 09:27

For lots of reasons there might be relatively small numbers of women able or willing to take a public action on this issue but that shouldn’t put anyone off.
There are a lot of ways to protest and highlight issues that can be really effective and don’t rely on sheer weight of numbers to make their point to the public- like Man Friday Flowers

I think that lots of smaller demonstrations would be more effective. It's much easier for the media to ignore a march if it's focused in one city. However, local newspaper's would be more likely to publish details of a protest which are then often put online which will help to spread the message further. The TRA's have said that we will be on the wrong side of history. Well we will be part of history so let's make it a big contribution. It would be amazing if in 50 years time school children were learning about these events and how women were making a stand. Written history has been described as 'his'story before so it's definitely about time that more female voices were heard. We are so much more powerful then we realise, mainly because we are half of the population.
