First deletion for posting actual facts. Who knew?

misscockerspaniel · 16/06/2018 19:49

The new policy seems to have peaked some lurkers (welcome) and have you seen the thread on AIBU [don't want to risk getting a strike for a TAAT] that has many potential new recruits Smile

On the naughty step with two lives left and 39 days to go.

3rd rule of misogyny: Women speaking for themselves are exclusionary and selfish.

I'm a life down. I don't know why though. The email just says to post within the rules without actually explaining which of the rules I've broken. Most unhelpful.

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/06/2018 21:49

Reply asking for clarification HerFemaleness. I would/will.

Delurking. I've been bumbling along reading MN for years and years. I remember the cube of poo, and SWMNBN, and used to really enjoy the philosophy/religion board when it was much more active.
I've been agog these last few months, up late into the night reading and absorbing threads and links on FWR. I am not a natural feminist, let alone a rad fem. But I have a daughter who watches a lot of YouTube and came home one day and said "I think I'm a boy". She is 15, a second child, tremendously insecure and is entirely gender non conforming, liking boys clothes, dyeing and cutting her hair and basketball.
According to the folk at the trendy counselling groups, I'm supposed to have nodded at her disclosure and asked what pronouns she preferred. I didn't. I cuddled her close and said I would always be there for her, but that she could be whoever she wanted to be, because women can be.
It would never, ever be a thing that I would be ok with her mutilating her natural female form because she is unhappy. I have bandaged her wounds when she has self harmed, I will not be party to sanctioning medical harm to her.
I have seen this disgracefully manipulative movement spring up and try to consume the normal insecurities and difficulties of young people like my child, and I have been told point blank by its proponents that I am abusive towards her because I call her my daughter.
I am checking in finally here, because it is you women here that have given me the necessary words to stand up for her, to protect her and to help her to learn to love her body just as it is, and become the woman I know she will be formidable as.
You are bent down under the weight of negative voices, but hear mine - in a sea of dramatic toothless suicide threats and stats, I genuinely think your clarion postings have saved my child from the nastiest cult I have ever seen gain the ear of the powerful.
I am delurking to post because it's clearly time for me to be counted among the women who will not be frightened away, who will take up the baton as the activists pick off the articulate warriors who have sounded the warning.
I am here, and I hope there will be many others. And I will not be moved.

Southfields · 16/06/2018 22:14

I am still here, no strikes that I know of.

Mogleflop · 16/06/2018 22:22

Thanks floral

There must be so many parents who are terrified by all this bullshit.

It makes it all the more obvious why TRAs want to take Mumsnet down.

Kettlepotblackagain · 16/06/2018 22:30

Floral Thanks

I hope you find you are able to share your story more and more. The tide is turning. You are not alone.

I know ther are other mothers here with similar experiences to yours floral. I'm pretty certain they have a board here. Hopefully someone will provide you with a link.

The tide is turning.

LangCleg · 16/06/2018 22:44

Flowers from me too, Floral. I don't know if you have seen this, but there is a forum for gender critical parents of ROGD children. I'm not a member myself but I know people who speak well of it. You can find it here: gendercriticalresources.com/Support/

thebewilderness · 16/06/2018 22:49

You bring tears to my eye, FloralBunting. I would hug you and your daughter both if I could.

thebewilderness · 16/06/2018 22:51

I messaged MNHQ last night about the proscription of the term that most transgender persons use to introduce themselves here, and is in common usage all over the interwebs.

RubyShooFan · 16/06/2018 22:54

I just got my second strike for comparing gender identity to other delusional disorders, on the thread where the usual people are claiming that we all have one whether we admit it or not.
If we all lurk for fear of being targeted who will talk?

RubyShooFan · 16/06/2018 23:16

How do you know if you’ve got a strike? I’ve had no emails and no idea until recently that you weren’t told if you’d been deleted?

By checking back I know I’ve had at least two deletions for my ‘this is child abuse stance’.

RubyShooFan · 16/06/2018 23:17

We all have one what? Delusional disorder? Gender identity?

The only thing we all have is a unique personality!

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/06/2018 23:22

thebewilderness please please complain to MNHQ if you think you are being targetted.

R0wantrees · 16/06/2018 23:28

Late to check in (not for the first time!)

@BettyDuMonde many Flowers & thank you for such an important statement about CRUK.

Can I check with you that you got my DM yesterday please? I have had some 'glitches' with my messages over the last 10 days. (no need to reply to the message, just wanted to confirm it had got through)
