Thanks Pratchet.

ResistanceIsNecessary · 16/06/2018 09:04

Morning. No emails. Really CBA to go back and check every page of every thread I've posted on to see if I've been deleted, so no idea of whether I have any strikes.

Hide if you truly think that stating a biological fact is offensive then I truly don't know what I could say to try and reach an agreement with you. Agree with us or don't - but surely you can see that actively preventing women from even discussing something sets a very dangerous precedent?

CosmicCanary · 16/06/2018 09:05

I had coco pops does that count?

So far no deletions but I reall wouldnt know as I dont bother checking my emails.

AngryAttackKittens · 16/06/2018 09:05

Still here, no emails so far, which I assume is only temporary. My guess is that the reporters will concentrate on picking off the people who have a flare for changing the minds of those on the fence first (hence Bewilderness is already being targeted) and may not get round to those of us whose primary form of engagement is pisstaking till later.

Angry I thought I saw you!
You are very persuasive, I think you will be targeted
All the techies are on a weekend
Probably rubbing their hands at a full 48 hours to get on with gagging women

I'm here but haven't been posting much.

OrchidInTheSun · 16/06/2018 09:10

I'm here but haven't been for the few days of shitstorm. Wonder how long I'll last?

AncientLights · 16/06/2018 09:14

I have all my lives still but by dint of not posting, so that doesn't mean much. I am confused about what we can say & what we can't. I expect I will join the queue for the tumbril soon

AngryAttackKittens · 16/06/2018 09:16

Absurd, isn't it? Realizing that at some point a storm of narcissistic rage is headed your way because you committed the horrible crime of having opinions on the internet while in possession of a uterus.

LangCleg · 16/06/2018 09:27

LangCleg: present - no strikes.

I even had the most excellent night's sleep (enjoying it so much that I kept the DH awake for hours with all the contented snoring apparently) and have awoken with fuming temper somewhat subsided. So I even feel safe posting!

LangCleg · 16/06/2018 09:30

may not get round to those of us whose primary form of engagement is pisstaking till later

The majority of my deleted posts over the course of my membership here have been when I was taking the piss. I've had a couple of temper tantrums rightfully deleted but most of it has been me mucking about and being irreverent. Clearly I don't do mucking about in an obvious enough - ok, funny enough! - way.

Note to self: brush up on comic timing.

AngryAttackKittens · 16/06/2018 09:31

Maybe a nice preemptive cup of tea and a biscuit just in case?

Floisme · 16/06/2018 09:31

Here and intending to stay but still getting to grips with this. Am I allowed to say 'here'?

AngryAttackKittens · 16/06/2018 09:32

"Here" is a bit exclusionary, how is "there" supposed to feel? Have you considered "there"'s feelings?

LangCleg · 16/06/2018 09:39

Maybe a nice preemptive cup of tea and a biscuit just in case?

DS1 ate all the bloody choc chip digestives. I suppose a girl can't have it all after all.

Floisme · 16/06/2018 09:39

Hmm yes and there's a 'he' in 'here' too. Sorry everyone.

Pratchet · 16/06/2018 09:41

Still here. Still fuming

ChattyLion · 16/06/2018 10:17

Morning.

Reading the BFI petition comments, www.ipetitions.com/petition/open-letter-to-the-bfi I am confused once again about the TRA pressure that is being forced on Mumsnet. Of all places. It’s not justifiably because MNers are so offensive, it has to be only because we are females gathering and talking. Our very being and doing is taken as a threat. It’s madness.

The discussion on here is generally very thoughtful and nuanced. We are not trying to offend anyone (though the goalposts for giving offence are being changed all the time!), we just are trying to debate, air our concerns, share information. Just trying to listen to each other and to be heard, amongst other women who get it. We have all posted in support the concerns and well-being of women, children, LGB people and transexuals and anyone else who doesn't gender conform but who also doesn’t believe in the literal sex changing fantasy.

We are often people who are silenced in our everyday lives so we really need this anonymous space.

Yet out there in the real world... ‘members of the reality based community’, (a brilliant coining by a FWR poster, sorry I have lost the thread it was on but I love your phrase!)
... people are telling it like they see it FAR more freely and angrily than we do on here.

Here, we do not take this forum for granted and we value it highly. we know we are being watched by TRAs desperately trying to gather evidence of transphobia so they can shut us down from speaking.

It’s so obvious that outside of MN, the reality-based majority know what they are seeing, the TRAs’ crass appropriation of victimhood, their authoritarian misogyny, their policing of nonbelievers’ language and their implicit and explicit threats of violence for all heretics. MN is being targeted and encroached on because the TRA cult both hates women and thinks women are soft targets.

It’s horrible to see such woman-hatred in action. You can’t unsee it. But as much as I think we are all in for a very rough ride over the next few years, I also think that the reality based community is not as stupid and biddable as TRAs think we are, (or they think women in general are). Truth will out. I feel as PP have said in the long run this particular flavour of misogyny will have to run out of steam, because it’s just hateful bollocks based on gaslighting.

Flooffloof · 16/06/2018 10:49

Hello 'waves' am around and not yet banned, although not posted anything much. Am busy today, tomorrow could be my day to prolific post about xy people who want to be xx. Wondering if I can programme a key to just post that phrase for me.

BeyondSceptical · 16/06/2018 10:58

Good morning!

Three lives still remaining afaik - no emails yet (I have never checked my 'burner' email so frequently!!)

HotRocker · 16/06/2018 11:01

Still here, although don’t think I’ve made enough posts to be banned yet. There’s always next week.
