Uneducated?? No.

Ignorant?? Maybe

I just have 0 idea. I read about it a lot but most goes over my head because I've never really read into it to understand it enough.

OP posts:

Cwenthryth

I know! They literally just jumped up. Now It's like human caber (?sp) tossing

IdentifiesAsMiddleAged · 18/05/2018 22:03

Because players were just lifting and it was hard to police, they just decided to make that part of the rules.

Sort of like men assaulting, oppressing and generally talking over women. That there is a bloody metaphor

Cwenthryth · 18/05/2018 22:09

Sort of like men assaulting women

Well that better not be made bloody legal just because it’s happening anyway.

thebewilderness · 18/05/2018 22:09

Kinda like the McGurk effect, eh?

IdentifiesAsMiddleAged · 18/05/2018 22:10

thebewilderness

The McGurk Effect? Pray tell? My googling finger is hampered at the moment

Onemorning · 18/05/2018 22:13

Chip, anyone?

MrsDeltaB · 18/05/2018 22:16

Think op, either male or female is getting a slightly raw deal.

I think the question maybe more along the 'what values do you hold that would make you/appear feminist, what do you, as a feminist, find offensive/sexist.

A more sweeping generalisation as opposed to political views etc. A day to day kinda example maybe?

MIdgebabe · 18/05/2018 22:27

My values are that mentally at least women and men are just people who are broadly the same ( social conditioning excluded ) and to discriminate agaiant one group because of sterotypes is wrong.

An Day to day example would be getting a 10% pay rise when hr realised that women were paid way less than men at the same grade and with the same performance mark

Another example would be getting raped becausba man is happy to use their physical strength to get what they want, whilst always showing men respect.

An example would be always calling someone bubble brain because once they they made one mistake in a sum , even if they were on average streets ahead mathematically

An example would be being told off for speaking in a meeting because it was unseemly for a women to speak

An example would be always being the person school contacted for everything even when the exh was unemployed ( and so reducing maintenance payments)

Hope that helps

thebewilderness · 18/05/2018 22:29

This is the first one I ever saw but youtube has lots of others now.

BeyondPink · 18/05/2018 22:35

I was sure you never used to be able to lift on a line out, thought I was making things up!! Shock

LangCleg · 18/05/2018 22:50

Yanny, yanny, yanny. Oi, oi, oi!

I've absolutely no idea which biscuit to dunk in my cup of tea. Hob Nob? Or chocolate chip digestive?

BettyFloop · 18/05/2018 22:59

Personally, I'd go for a custard cream Lang Cleg

ErrolTheDragon · 18/05/2018 23:49

Best biscuit for dunking is a ginger nut. Choccy bikkies with tea, not in it.

I was pondering 'Where I go to educate myself is my choice. The OP seems to have somehow mistaken a chat board for an educational establishment, but given that people (mostly men, weirdly) keep making this mistake, maybe we should establish some entry criteria and course fees - after all, as many of us who are parents know, you can't just choose any school or college and demand education.

CoupleOfPushBacks · 18/05/2018 23:57

I'm surprised to the anger and aggressiveness displaying on this thread.

I thought people would jump at the chance to give their own personal view/opinion on the matter.

I'm definitely Female! I have the reproductive organs to prove it.

OP posts:
Slapdasherie · 19/05/2018 00:00

Yes, now now ladies, be nice to the sincere seeker after knowledge.

AssassinatedBeauty · 19/05/2018 00:00

I think your post at 20.13 yesterday probably went down badly.

ErrolTheDragon · 19/05/2018 00:17

I thought people would jump at the chance to give their own personal view/opinion on the matter.

A few people have. You've been given a couple of good links. Trouble is, this sort of thread appears with tedious regularity, mostly the OP is a bloke on a wind up mission, but its not really much better if it's a woman who CBA to 'really read into it to understand it enough.'. You're not seeing 'anger and aggression' ... you're seeing dislike

ErrolTheDragon · 19/05/2018 00:18

Bugger, fat thumb at a bad point... dislike of being used.

thebewilderness · 19/05/2018 00:22

I'm surprised to the anger and aggressiveness displaying on this thread.

Refusing to engage, and being dismissive with chocolate biscuits and tea, being characterized as anger and aggressiveness is a tell.
You might want to keep that in mind the next time you enter a nest of Feminazgûls.

AngryAttackKittens · 19/05/2018 00:34

I've absolutely no idea which biscuit to dunk in my cup of tea. Hob Nob? Or chocolate chip digestive?

They make digestives with chocolate chips in them now? Damn, the old country sure has upped its basic biscuit game since I left.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 19/05/2018 00:35

Reproductive organs.......???????

I've got this funny cough today - sounds like aarf aarf

AngryAttackKittens · 19/05/2018 00:40

Something to keep you and your reproductive organs busy while everyone else is trading biscuit preferences, OP.

BettyFloop · 19/05/2018 02:34

Feminazgûls.

OP: “educate me!
MN feminists: “you’re free educate yourself - resources thataway”
OP: “but I already said I couldn’t be arsed. You’re all so mean and nasty”
MN feminists:

If you feel someone has been aggressive (ie abusive) to you, please report, MNHQ will look into it. Don’t make the mistake of labelling female assertiveness as aggression - that’s sexism right there.

Otherwise, please stop wasting people’s time. Everyone has busy lives, many FWR posters want to spend their “feministing” time taking actions that will affect change, discussing topical issues, exploring points of feminist theory, and generally educating ourselves and others on how we can make the world a better place, particularly for women and girls. Not battling trolls and time wasters. The way to join in is not to turn up demanding a crash course in feminism, but to read, listen, read some more, engage on specific threads, discuss, ask specific questions, discuss some more, and keep reading. Take responsibility for yourself. Generally (speaking for the feminist Borg here) we love helping to educate people in the nuances of feminist issues, but ain’t no one got time for rudeness, lazy demands and name calling. Get over yourself, quite frankly, and either join in or go away.

Cwenthryth · 19/05/2018 06:12

Ps I want “feminazgûl” on a tshirt. Grin

Now, should I pop online to a design-your-own-shirt website and sort that out for myself, or shall I demand that MN feminists make me a tshirt? Hmm......decisions.
