Thanks, I'd hidden it.

Blimey [understatement]

JustABrokenDoll · 04/05/2018 20:48

though still think MN are quite ridiculous for setting up a twitter reporting system, rather than getting people to join, post their views and use the proper system

Mumsnet did not set up that account, it was someone connected with Mermaids.

Mumsnet did, however, validate its aims by responding to them and saying they will look into whatever they posted claiming to be transphobic.

@FlaviaAlbia

"In case anyone wants to see some hissy fits being thrown"

Well, much as I'd love to ...

I've never even interacted with this drama queen on Twitter to the best of my knowledge Grin

SF thread part 2
NotTerfNorCis · 04/05/2018 23:05

SF probably thinks it should have been SF addressing the House.

There was also this weirdness:

Suggested a trans man instead of myself to debate two anti-trans 'feminists' on legal gender recognition and self-identification. Organisers have come back and said "we were hoping for a trans woman"

Let's not pretend this isn't transmisogyny

Okay so the organisers wanted a transwoman and not a transman, and you see this as prejudice against transwomen? I'm guessing if they'd wanted a transman, you'd be just as fuming?

Ereshkigal · 04/05/2018 23:22

"My existence is not a debate!" Shon doesn't want to acknowledge that women have any legitimate concerns or separate rights.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 04/05/2018 23:22

flavia

Wow...just wow Shock

And its not so much the Jenner dislike as the American accusing the britsh government of killing 2 year olds!!

JustABrokenDoll · 04/05/2018 23:22

Just used my back-up account to look at those tweets and now I'm glad that eejit has blocked me. There's only so much my blood pressure can take. Won't be doing that again.

AngryAttackKittens · 04/05/2018 23:31

"My existence is not a debate!"

Neither is mine, Shon. Funny how you don't seem to grasp that part of the picture.

BeyondParody · 05/05/2018 08:39

Is shon real? Maybe shon is just a figment of our imagination? I've certainly never seen shon in real life, so shon could be imaginary for all I know.

^ THAT is debating someone's existence. HTH.

BeyondParody · 05/05/2018 08:44

Shon's six million posts ranting about Jenner being umm... a privileged white transperson (like shon? Confused ) were the ones quoted at me by twitters news thingy.

Imagine being so silenced that a major social media company uses your tweets to share news. Must be hard.

BeyondParody · 05/05/2018 08:45

Emotionally hard that is. Not meaning anything else.

I'd like to make clear that 'prick' is a non-gendered insult by the way.

Men are called 'twats', so clearly 'prick' is by no means a reference to anyone's genitals, real or imaginary.

Because that would be horrific transphobia.

BeyondParody · 05/05/2018 08:58

This paranoid clarifiying of what we mean is going to fill threads up twice as fast. I hope mnhq are going to up the limit to 2000 posts to address this..?

Nobody listens to SF. And SF will always be resentful that Paris Lees took the fey trans boss baton and ran with it.

BeyondParody · 05/05/2018 09:16

Shame really, as shon is much prettier than Paris.
(you still reading shon? Look, I complimented you!)

NotTerfNorCis · 05/05/2018 09:20

the fey trans boss baton

Grin Grin

TerfinUSA · 05/05/2018 09:21

Shon is basically the trans George Osborne, posh as they come, whereas Paris is working-class, served time in prison.

Different worlds.

Pratchet · 05/05/2018 09:22

Paris was abused as a teenager before going to jail for that awful crime. A LOT of homophobia in PL's background.

Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

I think they're both ugly inside and out

LangCleg · 05/05/2018 09:30

LOL! But true. That's why Shon writes word salads about shifting constellations and Paris goes Yay! Got wolf whistled by a builder and his bum!

I think it's the same class issue at play in whether you see swearing as gendered or not. I'm working class and I swear like a trooper without regard to gendered etymologies or the gender of the person about or to whom I'm swearing. Half the time I'm using the swear words as terms of endearment anyway. I sometimes get into trouble with radfems, as well as TRAs, when swearing.
