Has anyone else read this enlightening article by respected feminist Julian Vigo about how mothers are excluded from some strands of feminism? It’s quite shocking what she’s uncovered.

Rad-fems and transclusionary rad-fems are entirely different groups of people, and there seems to be some confusion on here where the dividing line is, and exactly who is corrupting rad-fem ideals.

Lord love you, crisp, but there's a phrase to do with eggs and grandmothers you might recall. This board is full of women who have been feministing for decades and are not in the least confused about it.

And, I'm entirely unsure why you are bringing trans identities into a thread about whether or not male children should be accommodated - and if so, to what age - at women-only radfem events. What have trans people to do with this? It's an organising issue for feminists. Irrelevant to trans identities.

Well indeed Lang.

But any and every woman's issue is a Trans issue now.

Don't you realise that? Grin

Anyway. Back on topic. Almost every daytime women's event I've ever been to has had a creche for children of both sexes for at least pre-schoolers.

And a nice picture of Stuart Hall knowing his place in women's organising!

Female only events are wonderful, and little girls deserve to enjoy that special ambiance too.

LangCleg that image came into my mind when I was thinking about this thread, too!

Nowadays what we get is either men claiming they are the most oppressed people and so should be serviced, rather than doing their fair share of work, or even the ones who acknowledge they are on an axis of privilege (rare) just pay it lip service while hogging the stages and leaving women to do the childcare anyway.
