Just seen who's on the panel tonight - two transactivists vs The Daily Mail. I hope it's not too much of a car crash, but I won't get my hopes up...

disgusting, outdated, bigoted view

But factually and scientifically correct.

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 23/03/2018 00:06

I know Eleanor. When will someone tell those pesky chromosomes they’re outdated?
Mother Nature is a transphobic old cow isn’t she Grin

Mouthtrousersafrocknowandthen · 23/03/2018 00:07

Definition of bigoted

a person who is intolerant towards those holding different opinions

Sounds a bit like you EleanorXx

If we don't agree with your opinion we are disgusting? It is just an opinion after all?

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 23/03/2018 00:08

Eleanor’s cleared off.
There’s a danger here someone might not agree with her. And that would be, like, literal violence.

GretchenFranklin · 23/03/2018 00:12

EleanorXx
You know what? Science and biology hasn't caught up with you. Until then I am correct. Men are not women, however much they may want to be.

merrymouse · 23/03/2018 00:15

A young man moaning AWS are 'not fair' on him.

Well at the moment I don't think they are. Nobody seems to be able to explain what separates the people who are eligible for them and and the people who aren't.

It's almost as though they are completely pointless. I suspect somebody will suggest that they aren't necessary soon. Or maybe they could have short lists for white, straight men, and then one for everyone else. You know, minorities...

dorothyparka · 23/03/2018 00:56

God that was dull. It did make me laugh though when the SNP bloke with the glasses and the adenoids was laying into Putin and he said 'We couldn't have a forum like this in St Petersburg'. Like a pre-recorded and edited programme with a selected audience, vetted questions and a stage-managed panel exchanging glib soundbites is a veritable paragon of free speechHmm

TheBadgersMadeMeDoIt · 23/03/2018 07:33

Well said, Dorothy. Please send that comment to the BBC.

"Forum" indeed. That wasn't a forum, it was a lecture.

"Transgender is a thing"
Lol no kidding? So are women. We are a thing too. Yknow, the humans with wombs and everything.

Regularhuey · 23/03/2018 09:49

The BBC have their hands tied, there are GC people out there but the power tripp tirade from TRAs is not worth the workload so they have few options.

We end up with a TRA propaganda stunt like this.

UpstartCrow · 23/03/2018 09:52

Imagine if women could just get on with our lives, with no hassle and a fraction of this support. I wonder what we could achieve.

LangCleg · 23/03/2018 09:56

My New Year's resolution was to stop watching Question Time and Daily Politics and I have to say - my life is better for it.

ReversingSnail · 23/03/2018 10:04

"Trans rights arent at the expense of womens rights. Yeah right"

Unbelievable, wasn't it? Angry

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 23/03/2018 10:05

'And transgender is a thing, agreed on by researchers and experts, '

So was the wandering womb once.

TeenTimesTwo · 23/03/2018 10:11

Would anyone care to help word questions for tonight's Radio 4 Any Questions? (Diane Abbott, Vince Cable, Suella Fernandes & Richard Tice.)

Mouthtrousersafrocknowandthen · 23/03/2018 12:02

Do people consider campaigning to maintain consent is fundamentally different from demanding (as a right) spaces which belong to women and over which women must have control if they as a distinct biological sex are not to be subordinated to the priorities of people born male?

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 23/03/2018 12:53

Quite, countess. The medieval nature of transgender ideology has not escaped me. It’s like the humours - there’s this undefinable essence called gender, which bears no relationship to biological reality, which determines everything about a human being, including the rights they should have.
Kind of like the soul but we don’t call it that cos it wouldn’t be “progressive”
Evelyn Waugh once wrote that the word progressive made him ill. I wish he were alive today to debunk this crap. Hitchens et al are a very low brow inadequate substitute

TerfyTheCuntingTerf · 23/03/2018 13:33

Complained. It really was fucking dreadful. But maybe we can expect the next one to be entirely made up of gender critical people, right? laughs hollowly

RJnomore1 · 23/03/2018 18:54

I had to look up wandering womb

It then reminded me of the Victorian (I think?) belief that the female reproductive Track was the source of mental illness and the use of hysterectomy to treat it.

Hmmmmmmm
