Have just seen this on Twitter. Trying to get my head around it, so am hoping that somebody a lot more clued up than me can shed some light on it. I just know that it's not likely to be a good thing.

"The Scottish Govts newly passed gender bill, the Gender Representation on Public Boards (Scot) Bill, has redefined the language used in the GRA. A person is no longer reassigned a gender. This legislation now defines it as 'becoming female'."

Scienceistruth

We wouldn't be allowed to. People who 'identify' as women would force their way onto the island

Winewinewinegin · 21/03/2018 23:42

It is definitely worth organising and making a fuss. Media interest is picking up. Keep going, tell people, explain - there are millions of us.

ScienceIsTruth · 21/03/2018 23:57

Actually, horrified would be the right word to describe how I'm feeling.

I don't think the people in power making these decisions are stupid. This then begs the question:

What the hell is their true agenda, ie, their endgame?
Are they deliberately trying to erode women's rights?

Are they trying to erase women/females altogether?

Are they hoping this leads to a revolution & and an extreme right-wing government taking over?

OR are they going for some kind of 1984 scenario to evolve from this?

I don't believe that anyone with a brain actually believes humans can change sex, so what exactly are they playing at? What are they trying to achieve? Do they want us to end up resenting anyone different?

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?

I really want to get off this crazy world now, I'm done!

Winewinewinegin · 22/03/2018 00:01

I don't think they get it yet. Think about where you were before you got it, and what clicked. Tell friends, get the word out to voters however you can, be inspired by the brilliant women already speaking out.

And I'm someone who would never have described myself as a feminist, I've also never really supported any particular political party either.

This issue has galvanised me into trying to make my voice heard though, and I've learnt a lot along the way, including about myself.

For the sake of my children and girls everywhere, this is the hill on which I'm prepared to make a stand and fight. Just not sure how atm.
I want to get involved in #manfriday, but I don't have Facebook, and really don't want to open an account there for any reason.

Tbh, I've always thought of it as a mental illness, along the same lines as anorexia, so there's never been a 'Eureka!' moment for me.

thebewilderness · 22/03/2018 00:14

They have redefined the words male and female to include each other is the person says so.

thebewilderness · 22/03/2018 00:17

I have thought from the beginning that the politicians who embraced transgenderism are using it to drive women out of the public sphere.
Germain Greer warned us years ago that "Women have very little idea how much men hate them."

And there goes my faint hope that ScotGov might actually read the consultation responses Sad

Please write to your msp. There's a new thread about this. Thanks
