Just that really!

There is quite a lot of theoretical stuff on the board.

OP posts:
QuentinSummers · 10/03/2018 16:00

Nope, I do have a science PhD. Left because of this
the arrogance of the men was irritating
Got fed up with being told my research was plain wrong by paper reviewers even though it was fully replicable and the reviewers hadn't identified any specific errors, they just didnt believe it. Idiots.

I think being analytical and critical thinking is a prerequisite to being feminist because it's a necessary skill to identify the problem. Maybe that means the board is populated with an above number of analytical people and it seems like we are more academic than we are.

This board has all sorts.

Gacapa · 10/03/2018 16:51

Masters in English Literature. Not an academic but worked in higher education for a decade.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 10/03/2018 17:40

To add balance...no, I have a science degree, worked for a decade in STEM & now I'm a SAHM bringing up terfs

TerfyMcTerface · 10/03/2018 22:51

Yes, but not in a field directly related to feminist theory.

DebbieInBirmingham · 10/03/2018 23:34

I'm a secondary school teacher.

nNina22 · 16/03/2018 14:37

I am an academic. I have a PhD. I am British (specifically English)

AreYouTerfEnough · 16/03/2018 14:52

I’m a nurse. I don’t have a degree or even A Levels. I struggle with the theoretical language on here, but the trans issues have made it impossible to ignore so here I am. I keep up as best I can.

2rebecca · 16/03/2018 14:54

No but have a degree.

NoFucksImAQueen · 16/03/2018 14:55

I will be come September! I doubt my current access course qualifies me as an academic

Amortentia · 16/03/2018 16:13

I thought twice about posting this as I’m currently feeling very paranoid, but thought to hell with it. I’m part way through my PhD and teach first year undergrads.

Writersblock2 · 16/03/2018 16:36

Nope. MH issues in teens/20s made me drop out. If I could do it again I’d love to be a pathologist!

wildduckhunt · 16/03/2018 17:14

I have a degree, but not in anything related to feminism. And it was a while ago, so I struggle with the theoretical language sometimes.

blaaake · 16/03/2018 17:15

I have an economics and mathematics degree from LSE.

blaaake · 16/03/2018 17:15

But I'm not an academic

MrsJoshDun · 16/03/2018 17:21

I’m an academic.

SleightOfGender · 16/03/2018 17:24

I used to be - not anymore.

SleightOfGender · 16/03/2018 17:25

Ha! Grin

the arrogance of the men was irritating

That and the politics and the endless meetings about meetings

slug · 16/03/2018 18:07

MSc, work in higher education but not an academic. Working myself up to become a PhD student sometime in the near future.

BizzyFuxtons · 16/03/2018 18:10

I am (was). British, First Class Arts degree, PhD. Had a senior lectureship until I had the DC. 20 years of SAHMing later, I am divorced and unemployable, and wishing I had trained as a plumber or something similarly useful and lucrative. Confused

BeyondDeadlySiren · 16/03/2018 18:13

STEM final year Bsc student, with a provisional place for my masters in the autumn :)

BeyondDeadlySiren · 16/03/2018 18:15

(and I'm Welsh)

Freshlylaidterf · 16/03/2018 18:22

Degree in social science. Taught in FE for 20 years. Lots of feminist theory on curriculum! Retired now and miss nurturing future feminists!

titchy · 16/03/2018 18:38

Masters in Economics. Am one of those dreaded senior professional staff in HE that academics generally don't approve of Grin (In my defence at least I'm not a Director of Marketing.)

Theswaggyotter · 16/03/2018 18:47

I have Medical degree and I do clinical work but not academic. I am British too
I did get to do one week of Women in history/ literature type course as part of my degree though!

DebbieInBirmingham · 16/03/2018 20:23

Not a regular, but PhD Atomic Physics. I'm now a teacher.
