Is there any interest in being part of this? and what do you think the priorities/focus should be?

I could get behind GirlScout's singke issue agenda.

As for voting Tory (hisssss!!!): I'd rather drop dead. I may be willing to vote for a single issue party under circumstances such as these but that certainly doesn't mean I'm willing to sacrifice all of my other convictions - almost all of which the Tories oppose.

Oh sweet summer child...

Have any of you ever actually been involved in organising a political party? Are you aware that we have FPTP which makes it difficult for minority parties to win anything? What seats are you going to target in which elections (you have about 4 weeks before close of nominations for local elections 2017 and can't get registered in time for that so would have to stand as an independent)? Do you know anything about how GDPR relates to political campaigning and what data you are allowed to use? What an imprint is meant to say? PPERA rules on donations?

I mean, go for it. Good luck. I'm all for widening of political space. Even for people whose views I think are abhorent. You'll want to start with www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/party-or-campaigner/guidance-for-political-parties/registering-and-maintaining-a-party

And the libdems are very firmly in the transwomen are women camp. Have been for a long time. 'Cos we believe no-one should be enslaved by conformity.

MrsMcGarry the aim is to raise the profile of this issue not necessarily to field candidates in all seats and take over the country. Nigel Farage only ever won one seat but got invited on all media to discuss his parties aims. That media exposure is exactly what is needed at the minute as women are being effectively silenced everywhere. The general public on the whole have no idea of the impact of losing sex based protections, and most actually agree with the absurdity of it once they hear about it.. But the TRA's are getting to sell their narrative of how lovely and progressive and inclusive it is, without the negatives being highlighted or discussed.

I'm in. Let's just do it. Let's establish a party for WOMEN. Females.

I don't think it matters if we win very few seats or even none at all. We need to raise awareness of what is happening. That's what important.

I agree with pretty much all of Donkeyskin's post. We must keep biological sex as a separate and protected category in law. France recently found in favour of this, that there is a difference between sex and gender and sex is a distinct category and they must be separated in the law.

When I first clicked this thread my mind was in the "No, I don't want to vote for a single issue party" frame of mind, but, as with so many others I'm a disenfranchised voter. None of the parties represent my concerns.

So why not support a single issue party instead?

I'm in. I'm happy to contribute to the "fighting fund" when one is created and very happy to canvass, leaflet and generally turn out in my local area.

I agree that this should be cross party and non partisan based on sex not gender, freedom of speech, sexual equality, campaigning for the protection and extension of women's and children's rights. Pretty much what GirlScout72 said really.

MuddlingMackem · 09/03/2018 12:42

Sounds good and I'll support if I can.

Triliteration · 09/03/2018 12:54

I’m currently overseas, but can still vote. I’d vote for this.

MIngerDynasty · 09/03/2018 13:10

I'd help with this. I've been really distressed by people talking about voting UKIP as a protest vote.

Women are at risk, but voting for a party that puts vulnerable immigrants (50% of whom are women Hmm) at risk to make a statement is vile.
