Mumsnet - thank you - today on International Women's Day I would like to celebrate you and thank you for enabling so many of us to explore the issues of transgender and its impact on women and girls in a safe space

I wasn't even looking for this. I was following a link on the Spectator article.

Last year Mumsnet were threatened with legal action by trans children’s charity Mermaids after they refused to take down a post regarded as defamatory.

Mumsnet guidelines are quite explicit.

• No personal attacks

• No posts that break the law

• No trolling, misleading or deliberately inflammatory behaviour

• No trollhunting

• No spamming

Fortunately MNHQ still support the old-fashioned notion that questioning, challenging and disagreement are not illegal.

I found MN when going under due to repeated mcs. The support and information from women here was invaluable, this is - while at times it must feel to MNHQ like trying to shepherd gerbils - a truly amazing place.

I would have no idea about the trans debate if it wasn't for MN.
