Mumsnet - thank you - today on International Women's Day I would like to celebrate you and thank you for enabling so many of us to explore the issues of transgender and its impact on women and girls in a safe space

Flowers for MNHQ

Things got a bit twitchy a year or two back with the bannings and deletions and all, but seem to have settled down. And I've said it before, but I'm very grateful for this platform.

I have not a single speck of doubt that when the history of feminism looks back upon this weird era of redefining women, Mumsnet will have its place in feminist history as the most influential forum of the time for allowing discussion of these ideas.

Thank you MNHQ for giving me a place to talk with wonderful women when nursing my dear husband. I have a place to come to when I’ve had enough of dealing with the fucking mansplaining that male friends feel they have a right to do now that I’m a widow. 🙄

I’m amazed that there’s a place left on the internet where women have a right to be proud of being women and able to discuss topics that are important to us, without being silenced. This is an amazing place full of welcoming women. We may not all agree on topics but fuck it, we have the right to disagree with each other here. Right, I’m away for a tissue, I’ve something in my eye.

Flowers 💐🌷🌹🥀🌻🌼🌸🌺 and here’s a pineapple 🍍 cause I’m posh. 😁

Thank you so much Mumsnet for allowing the discussion on transactivism, as I had no idea what was going on.

Thank you as well for all the other sections as well, from housework, to money saving tips, to the relationships board. I have benefitted so much reading this board over the years.

Thank you again, and We Are Spartacus Flowers

Just catching up with this thread. Thank you so much for recognising the tricky work our moderation team do - it means an awful lot to us. Our team really are a wonderful and dedicated bunch of women who have to make difficult decisions on an almost daily basis.

We are genuinely committed to enabling womens' voices to be heard as well as to continuing to allow diverse and contrary opinion on Mumsnet - increasingly important, I think, in an ever more polarised world.

Thanks to you all for your amazing, supportive and brilliant contributions which undoubtedly make Mumsnet the site it is. I know I'm a bit behind (as ever) but happy #iwd2018 to all Mumsnetters wherever you may be. Justinexx

MNHQ are braver than every one of the political parties.
Braver than the BBC, the Guardian and the Independent.
AND braver than Millwall FC.

How fantastic is that????

I left Flowers yesterday, but as the thread is still going I’ll just leave some Cake for this afternoon too.

As a single mother who until very recently was working from at home, Mumsnet has saved me from quietly going mad many a time already.

On this issue, I am so glad that mumsnet have been brave and allowed a discussion, where so many other sites (online and off - I'm looking at you, supposedly-hard-as-nails Millwall Football) have run scared. Flowers
