Can transwomen live as women?

I've been reading about the council appointed women's officer and some of the responses got me thinking. Obviously biology means that transwomen can never truly experience the lived experience of women, neither than being conditioned as male throughout their childhood in anyway can compensate the privilege automatically bestowed on them.

In this example it is especially ludicrous as we are talking about a 19yr old, but what about older transwoman. Could they, are they ever going to be accepted as 'woman' without controversy. Is there ever a right time for them to be given 'womens' posts etc.

As women we all have different life experiences and different needs/priorities. Some are lesbian, some heterosexual, some married to men, some to women, some with children, some in full time successful careers, some care givers, some unable to work because of childcare, some disabled etc etc. We all have different takes on life, and I will always hold onto biology to define us as a class, but no one woman can speak for all us. A straight woman, married to an abusive male, struggling with 3 children under 5 has very different needs to a middle age butch lesbian, with no children and a successful career, for example. Neither of these women could truly understand the others way of life.

With that in mind, is appointing a 'woman's post' to a transwoman (not a 19 yr old) that controversial? Until today I would have always said yes, must be a female, I'm not as sure now. I'm hoping some of you who have a better knowledge could help me get my head round this.

That's interesting? Does the research offer any theories as to why? And why poorer students?

The article is very descriptive and mainly interested in bullying. I suspect that the association with poverty is due to higher tendency of native Americans and African Americans to trans, and they are poorer than whites.

Curiously there is a long tradition of transing among African American males (e.g. several activists in Black Lives Matter), but as far as I can tell here in Britain it's almost exclusively white.

And what is the statistics for gays? Wouldn't be surprised if people decide being a boy/girl and feminine/masculine must mean they are trans, not gay. And is there any research what is driving this? Celebrities like Sam Smith saying they are and it's making it cool? Unlikely that suddenly there are more than before, more admit it maybe, more learn about it, would be interesting to know.

But anyway, 3% is still far less than 50%, and if anything, the more trans there are, the more reason for them to compete in their own competitions. To say that binary gender views are wrong. But not to claim "woman" for themselves.

I am mystified by it all. It's much more accepted to be gay than it was when I was young. You had pop stars back in the 60s, 70s, 80s who got married to prove their non gayness as god forbid, they wouldn't sell records. I understand this is still true of Hollywood today. Yet my daughter since being a tiny tot accepts all manner of relationships as quite unremarkable. I only wear make up when going to work or going out, situations where I have been socialised to expect that to be the norm. I don't do frocks or heels and work in a STEM environment with mostly men. I am a woman but I don't feel it as an experience unless we are talking the fucking wife Work, or menopause symptoms. I am guessing that is not what TIMS are after, that it's all about kitten heels and lippy and demanding access to things men have previously been denied, cos now they can. It makes me beyond furious.

Men want to identify in. To what they perceive as their view of women. Put on a pedestal, the gatekeepers to sex (female sexual power).

That's sick.
