tv shows for an 11 year old?

She's at that awkward age, too old for kids stuff, but not old enough for most of the adult shows. When I reach back in time and show her things I remember as being great they usually haven't aged well and the jokes are unfortunate at best.

She could do with a box-set of something to take her mind off other stuff.

Any recommendations? Particularly of older shows which are easier for us to get hold of than things airing now (we're outside UK).

She loves Bake-off, Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, and Monty Python.

My 12 year old likes the good wife. It can be a bit risqué but good strong female leads.

Just looked these up and, like Buffy, the DVDs are rated 15 so probably too old for her at the moment:

Zena Warrior Princess
Charmed

Sabrina the teenage witch

I definitely watched blackadder when I was younger than 12. Even though it's a 15. Must be swearing.

My DD loves Modern Family and (to my delight) Friends.
