Apparently I shouldn't use the term SEX

Says DD (30).

It is politically correct to say gender. I told her sex is the biological term for the physical body (dna etc) and gender was a social construct

Nope... apparently we should just say gender

Hmm

Anyone remember The Goodies' "Gender Education?" Episode - they weren't allowed to use the S E X word - it was the height of the Mary Whitehouse era. It's very funny.

Stopmakingsense - Yes! I'm sure I have mentioned this before. It is good to know that I'm not the only one who remembers it!

Gay men like other men put themselves and their dicks first.

Painful, but true. And all the lesbians who now refer to themselves as gay women...

YetAnotherSpartacus · 30/09/2017 14:53

Guardian - I guess I have always known that ... I've often wondered if those who are more feminist refer to themselves as lesbian and others as gay? Gay is so much more acceptable now though - in popular view it has connotations of love, fun, acceptance and bright colours, whereas lesbian still has connotations of 'unnatural women'.

I know a gay man who says he hates the word lesbian. In his mind it all sounds 'licky'... I explained to him about Lesbos and Sappho - he had no idea. He is openly misogynist /lesbophobic btw

Considering how obsessed the modern western world is with sex it is baffling how we are now seeing this bizarre coyness when it comes to the most fundamental essence of sex - maleness and femaleness.

I wonder if, in 20 years or so time, when the damage they are doing becomes apparent they will be saying "oops, perhaps we got that wrong" or shrugging their shoulders over a generation of damaged individuals.

I’m only a year older than your DD & there’s only one of my friends who’s brought into this gender/sex/trans crap. Don’t worry. There are those of that generation fighting against the penised patriarchy

Read reference to right wing being opposed to the term "sex"
I think it's the left- they have been waging a war with words for a while.
All they do is to anyone who disagrees with them is labelled a fascist, racist, homophobe, transphobe. They stifle debate with this nonsense.
For example Ben Shapiro, someone moderately right wing, tried to hold a talk at Berkeley college America- and it cost €600,000 to police because of the left turning up to stop it. It's very rarely reported on the chaos they cause. They are a nuisance, speech is violence crap they spout constantly.
People need to re-examine the left and what it stands for.
We're all screwed if Jeremy Corbyns gets in, it's basically communism dressed up. Him spouting we're ready for socialism scares the hell out of me. It's never worked anywhere it's been implemented.

He who controls speech controls the masses

There has been a mission of causing division in the left, constantly telling people how oppressed they are, how western civilizatiom is evil, basically causing tension and I believe the aim is to cause a breakdown of west to rebuild their socialist utopia in its place.
There is a war being waged but people don't realise.

meanwhile everyone is competing as to who is the most oppressed as their seems to be virtue in it and power.

Someone I know that has spent some time studying the occult predicted years ago , and I remember them saying it many years ago, that society would eventually head towards being hermaphrodite, being both male and female and there are reasons behind it.

Lancelottie · 30/09/2017 22:28

Given that we aren't snails, I think a hermaphrodite society would be pretty limited in duration.

It’s not politically correct .... they mean different throngs. One is biology one is a social construct.

Ha no we're not snails, that made me laugh,
But for anyone interested, there are several doctrines that relate to male and female becoming "one" in order to live an eternal life and become "as god", see theosophy, the gnostics esp gnostic of thomas, (preaches that man must become woman and woman become man) the Kabbala and its tree of life fuses male/female at the top.
The bible stated god made man and woman in his own image, the devil wanted man to be in his image... the devil is consider both male and female, like baphomet.

The Fox News clip is wonderful, if only for the bit where he mentions Canada and then clarifies, 'the country directly to the north'. Oh joy!

I couldn't watch the woman who didn't understand that intersex and transgender aren't the same thing.

Since 1856, the name Baphomet has been associated with a "Sabbatic Goat" image drawn by Eliphas Levi[3] which contains binary elements representing the "sum total of the universe" (e.g. male and female, good and evil, etc.).[4] On one hand, Lévi's intention was to symbolize his concept of "the equilibium of the opposites" that was essential to his magnetistic notion of the Astral Light; on the other hand, the Baphomet represents a heretical tradition that should result in a perfect social order, a notion that can only be understood against the background of Lévi's socialist background "Lévi was successful".[5]
Baphomet is depicted by Lévi as the symbol of a revolutionary heretical tradition that would soon lead to the "emancipation of humanity" and the establishment of a perfect social order.[53]

This is from wikipedia.
There is some belief by occultist that male and female need to fuse to achieve god like status. It's linked to socialism and marxism being a way of implementing it.

If you look into theosophy which says it studies all religions, the works of madam Blavatsky she In a nut shell says that religion got it wrong worshiping god, that it was the devil or lucifer that loves humans, he gave humans knowledge of right and wrong in garden of Eden, he is the lightbearer.
She even called her publishing company lucifers trust, later Lucia trust. Building an image unto the beast and social transformation is said to be indoctrination to accepting the antichrist.

Helena Blavatsky theosophical society stated the theosophical society is to;
To form a nucleus of the Universal Brotherhood of Humanity, without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste, or colour.
To encourage the study of Comparative Religion, Philosophy, and Science.
To investigate the unexplained laws of Nature and the powers latent in man.

She was a very influential occultist

I'm very much looking forward to teaching sex differentiation during the genetics topic that is coming up on our curriculum. I foresee quite a lot of discussion and questioning from the students, as we have a fair few trans students at school, although all are FTT. It's like its become socially unacceptable to be a lesbian, at least at my school. Sad.

I filled out a medical form recently. It asked for 'gender identity' rather than sex but then later on had questions stating 'this question is for people with breasts' and 'this question is for people with testicles.' I guess that's what happens when asking for someone's biological sex is made somehow impolite.

I had this conversation at work on Friday - im responsible for ensuring that we are progressing strategically as we've planned, and part of that is a commitment to increase the number of women in the organisation. I was asked to provide some stats related to gender, so I duly provided stats with 'sex' as the column header. It caused a ridiculous amount of discussion!
