Not even sure if this is the right place to post this. But I heard about this today:

I think it's the first news story that has made me literally burst into tears. How can people be so awful? What kind of world am I bringing my daughter into?

I also read that yesterday and felt angry. I really don't know what to do. How does someone, especially in the second situation, treat a vulnerable person like that? Almost as if he did it because she was traumatised already and "one more" won't make a difference m. It made me sick.

I honestly gagged. I've never reacted like that before. It horrified me

I saw this on Facebook a few days ago. The amount of comments questioning what she was doing out at 2am was astonishing

Do we as a society even understand what happens to men when they're growing up to turn them into people that can do this?

Fucking hell. That poor woman I hope they catch the predatory, evil men that did this.

Day upon day we hear of despicable crimes against women and I think many of us become so used to hearing about them we become desensitised to an extent.
This though...I have no words strong enough to describe how sickened.

Sadly doesn't horrify me in the slightest just because I know of worse happening when I was 14. At that age, I realised how much hatred there is for women and girls in the world. This is not isolated, in the slightest.

That said, I saw this and felt so sad for this girl. I hate this happens but I am utterly powerless to stop it.

Also not to play it down it is utterly, utterly horrible.

I obviously know nothing about this girl's situation but I do wonder if she will have the support she needs. Sadly I suspect that all too often (not always) these things happen to those who don't come from the most stable family situations.

Is there anything we can do? I worry for my daughter.

Yes but the point is this isn't an isolated incident. This is about all the poor young girls being violated and abused everyday. This is just one that has made the news but what about all the others?

It's abhorrent and I feel enraged that it could happen. It very much isn't isolated; I've posted in other threads and indeed started one about the scale of violence against women and just a few of the cases I could remember off hand of women and girls who've been attacked by men unknown to them purely due to their sex just this year.

Wasn't she out at 2am because she'd already been subject to a six hour attack? Unless maybe I misunderstood.

I don't understand anything about this. What kind of depravity are these men living in constantly for it to be acceptable to say 'maybe we should set up a teenage girl so we can both rape her, after making her think one of us is her saviour, hahaha that's genius'?

So are the two attacks thought to be connected?

As a society we have to stop with these kind of reactions to things because it effectively says the men can't help it. That we should expect it.
