To a very minor extent, I think Riley and his girlfriend are amusing in an attention whore, look-at-me-I'm-so-edgy, transtrender way.

One video I watched said that if Riley had been born 20 years earlier, he would have been an emo boy - a comment that I thought summed him and his equally daft girlfriend perfectly.

I liked Egocast's video because he was trying to look at the idea of being faced with an unexpected penis from a woman's point of view. There are other male rebuttals of Riley but they start from the point of view that as heterosexual men they don't like dicks either so they can understand, whereas that was a peripheral point for him.

Having read a badly written article by Riley about rape culture on campus his comment about "1 in 4" may well have been a specific reference to what Riley had to say.

I've just given up halfway through a video of Riley talking about whether one can be a feminist and an atheist. No idea what Riley was on about.

If Riley and their girlfriend were to say "we're in a queer relationship. It's technically heterosexual but we feel it isn't a "straight" relationship and therefore we identify it as queer". I would, most probably shrug and say "yeah, I can see that if you do a lot of navel gazing you might want a distinction between a "standard" Hetero relationship and yours" but appropriating the term Lesbian, by people in an opposite sexes relationship is lesbian erasure plain and simple and they are the bigots.

As so many men of my acquaintance did in the 1980s - except they presented as MEN, swithering between Billy Idol and Nick Rhodes.

I had a boyfriend in my teens who wore more eyeliner than me and used old lady style setting lotion to spike his hair (early 80s -hair mousse not yet hit market). He was really a great looking man.

But one night, we got caught in the pissing rain and the setting lotion ran into his eyes and half blinded him and his eyeliner ran down his face. Which was not so hot. Funny though.
