I literally cannot even begin to imagine the level of cognitive dissonance the writer of this article had to employ.

Sorry if this is a repost.

And sorry for not really offering a point of view or starting point for discussion.... but.... just look...

OP posts:
OneFlewOverTheDodosNest · 07/03/2017 15:26

Similar to Overthinking I remember the requests for people to look out for Lisa a few months back with police saying they were worried for the well being of a woman who'd gone missing.

They posted the pictures and I remember thinking how daft it was that they didn't mention that Lisa was just as likely to be Craig. There was not a word about absconding from a rape case, you'd think that'd be considered relatively important information really seeing as Lisa/Craig is a serial attacker.

MinimumPaymentMaximumBurrito · 07/03/2017 15:28

This makes me wish I'd never had children. Such levels of collective insanity. WTAF is this stupidity, I just can't even begin to get my head around it all. So awful.

reallyanotherone · 07/03/2017 15:50

Can it really be that Craig's crimes were sidestepped because he is now Lisa and they didn't want to upset Lisa by mentioning they are male? I could weep

This. It's almost as if transgender people have changed identity. Lisa is pink, soft, vulnerable female, but the crimes were committed by craig, a big, strong, sexual male. No connection between the two identities.

So pretty much a get out clause for any sexual felon then?

If a man is on the sex offenders register, are they removed if they decide they're female? Or just their male identity remain on?

Makes a mockery of Sarah's law. Want to know if a sex offender lives near you? Well we only know about the ones who haven't transed.

Plus the safeguarding and dbs checks brought in after holly and jessica's murders. does changing gender identity mean it becomes impossible to link acts and behaviours to one person, if they are treated as two separate identities?

This could have some really shitty consequences for women and children.

Fairyflaps · 07/03/2017 15:55

And there's another one:
Katie Brennan. Woman appears in court charged with raping a man. No mention that she's a transwoman.

trevortrevorslattery · 07/03/2017 15:59

FFS. This is so ridiculous as to be totally unbelievable if it wasn't actually true Angry

Dreamingdreams · 07/03/2017 16:10

I'm confused. Only read OP and the linked article but from the pictures in the article he looks like a man.
So is this a very realistic transman or is this a transwoman that still dresses as/looks like a man?

AssassinatedBeauty · 07/03/2017 16:13

It's a transwoman who is sometimes dressed "as a man", so born a man.

reallyanotherone · 07/03/2017 16:17

Dreaming; it's a biological male, who identifies as a female, dressing "as a man" aka wearing trousers and a hoody, which is acceptable for females to wear without changing sex presumably to evade getting caught for their crimes, which were committed while female.

Clear?

I'd like to know what transwomen think of being "dressed like a man". If you are a transwoman, wearing jeans and a hoody, what does that do to your female identity if everyone then thinks you are dressing as the gender you aren't? Or are transwomen expected to "dress like women" at all times?

QuentinSummers · 07/03/2017 16:18

dreaming the person has lived as Craig in the past and more recently as Lisa, presenting as either male (Craig ) or female (Lisa) They absconded while awaiting sentencing for sex attacks.
Police are hunting them, but in line with guidelines to protect gender identity have reported they are looking for a woman called Lisa. But as they haven't seen Lisa for 2 years and they know Lisa has lived as a man they think Lisa may have gone back to male presentation.
It's a fuck up.

Dreamingdreams · 07/03/2017 16:21

It strikes me that in years to come when historians are looking at surviving news articles, etc, it's going to be very misleading and very confusing for them.

Dreamingdreams · 07/03/2017 16:25

Thanks quentin, really, beauty. Clear as mud then, lol.

Gingernaut · 07/03/2017 17:08

From 2013 www.taxi-driver.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21812

From 2017 www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/south-shields-woman-26-appears-12704587

Hmmmm Hmm It seems this laydee has a few identity issues.

My sympathies go to 'her' victim.

deadringer · 07/03/2017 17:11

I am a bit thick so hoping someone can help. This person was born male but decided they are really a woman so began to live as a woman (whatever that means). But if they live as a man again, clothes, hair etc, are they now a man again. I can't get my head around it.

Gingernaut · 07/03/2017 17:17

There's another laydee from South Shields who's accused of raping a man now.

@deadringer Yes. That's it. The police have to look for both identities because he or she could show up anywhere.

Gingernaut · 07/03/2017 17:18

Sorry. In my post at 1708. I meant the alleged victim.

M0stlyBowlingHedgehog · 07/03/2017 17:21

deadringer - the thing to remember amidst all this shitstorm of disinformation in the press is that in UK law rape is legally defined as penetration by a penis - so only someone with a penis can commit rape. So when you see a "woman" convicted of rape, this means that whatever claims they make about their internal gender feelz, they either have, or have had at some point in the past, a functioning penis.

Sexual assault by someone with a vulva is just that - sexual assault - but the sentencing is exactly the same, depending on the severity of the assault.

And according to the prison service's statistics, 98% of the people in prison for sexual offences are people with penises.

(I hope this sidesteps my deletion of last night.)

reallyanotherone · 07/03/2017 17:24

Me neither. It seems to be reducing gender to what you are wearing. Wear a skirt, you're a woman. Jeans and a hoody, hey presto, you're a man. And people must take this very seriously, even legally you must only be referred to the gender you are dressed as, with no mention of actually being male or female.

deadringer · 07/03/2017 17:41

I suppose what i mean is, at what point will the media start having to call them 'him' again.

ErrolTheDragon · 07/03/2017 18:04

As things currently stand, it seems the media are supposed to call this rapist 'she' for as long as he 'identifies as a woman'. Hmm

Terfinator · 07/03/2017 18:14

Well, let's get these ladies locked up, somewhere where they can't rape anymore women. Any ideas?

QuentinSummers · 07/03/2017 18:56

Someone posted this on another thread Angry Angry

www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/truth-female-sex-offenders/

M0stlyBowlingHedgehog · 07/03/2017 19:05

Dammit - it's not open to comments. I was going to post the completely factually accurate statement that Hauxwell has absconded from a prison sentence for rape, and that in UK law, rape is defined as penetration by a penis specifically.

But yes, Angry doesn't even begin to cover it.

reallyanotherone · 07/03/2017 19:08

What the actual fuck?

That is horrifying. I have no words.

QuentinSummers · 07/03/2017 19:11

M0stly, also that Hauxwell is not female so totally irrelevant to the article Angry
