It's meant to be a demo in support of Muslims against Trump's racist immigration policies so I am not sure why anyone would be carrying a vagina placard anyway, but not being allowed to wear the hats seems a bit extreme.

This thread reminds me of many threads on mumsnet where a poster gets an anonymous letter, usually about the state of their front garden or a parking issue. The response is usually to dig in with rude gnomes and to never give in when it comes to parking.

There are about 500 posts on FB discussing the issue. Suzanne Wells is a journalist who is supposed to be writing up the Brighton march and has posted that at this rate her article is going to have to focus on the massive derail caused by the attempted censorship of a march against fascism (I know, I know). She pointed out it would appear in the press. I nearly popped up and told her that Mumsnet is fascinated, but it seemed a bit mean. She also wanted to know if any of the other marches in other towns were issuing instructions as to what should be worn. Sounds a bit fed up, and who can blame her.

Quite a lot of people are having misgivings about even attending. Some women are saying that if their vagina isn't welcome they aren't coming, with others defiantly insisting that they're coming, pussy hat and all.

The trans complaints seem to erase women's biology completely and make it all about their lack of it.

Who is silencing women the most? Biological women are half the world's population. They are half the population in the countries affected by Trump. Yet pointing this out is excluded from a march for freedom.

The basis of liberty is freedom of movement, freedom of expression, freedom of religion, surely also freedom of dress, freedom of signage, freedom to disagree and not be excluded.

Reading the hundreds of posts on FB what struck me was that the idea that pussy hats were transphobic was mostly being trotted out by young women. They probably see themselves as allies. It's depressing. No feminist principles, just a lot of SJW bullshit about how TW are the most oppressed group there is.

Let them grow up, have just one tiny little baby, and then they'll see just how oppressed women still are.

In contrast I was pleasantly surprised by how supportive some of the blokes were.
I imagine it being the older ones, don't know if that's right - I have certainly never seen self-righteous misogyny from older men like you get from young social justice warrior types.

I've seen young men using claims of transphobia to be vile to women. Men have nothing to lose. If they were being asked to allow bigger, very much stronger and potentially sexually aggressive people in their showers they might be less enthusiastic.

These things are a gift though, as they will help educate more people about why some feminists have a problem with some aspects of the trans community

I agree twogoats. Most women are still oblivious to the trans craziness and think it is still about a few vulnerable gay guys who have reassignment surgery. Every time the craziness rears its head in public, more women hit peak trans.
