They are being attacked by the transactivists for hosting an event featuring 'hateful transphobe' Julie Bindel.

If you have time please go on and give them a review (transwhacktivists are giving them 1 star reviews) - it's great that they are being brave and not backing down on their decision to host Julie.

It's just horrifying that someone who campaigns against violence towards women and girls is being bullied in this way. They also plan to picket the event.

People are comparing JB with Hitler? That suggests a level of privilege I can hardly imagine. If a middle aged lesbian speaking in a tiny library poses such a bowel-loosening threat I can only assume that these dickheads have never in their cushioned lives encountered any sort of threat before.

That because T has been added to LGB, whether lesbians want it there or not, that means lesbians have a cheek to talk about lesbianism?

One weird juxtaposition I've seen is where two or three MtT are "discussing" JB's looks. They decide that she's as ugly as a transman! So there's obviously some kind of hierarchy even within the T, guess which biological sex appears to come out on top of that one too?

Julie Bindel has said some straight up ridiculous things in the past, mostly because she likes to court controversy. She has however, committed no crimes and done a whole lot of good for women, children, and lesbians in particular.

A rich, privately educated and very bloody privileged bloke (who I won't name just in case) who has worn a dress on occasion, has decided that he doesn't want to hear what this working class lesbian might say to an audience at the Working Class Movement Library. Fair enough, his prerogative - except he has also decided that NO-ONE should get the opportunity to listen to her either, and furthermore that the charity that's decided to host her should be forcibly shut down as punishment.

This is not only a highly sexist and homophobic action, it's also classist. It's taking the power he has as a rich man to try to shut down one of the few damn working class resources we have in this country. The fact he's trying to do it in the name of liberalism royally boils my piss.

Also the picture of the wee hijabi to complain about racism, I'm a Muslim woman myself but some feminists have a problem with hijab and organised religion on the whole. That doesn't make them racist, i know when people are posting anti Muslim anti hijab shite because they are just fucking racist.

On top of which, its feminists who do an awful lot for Muslim women who are being oppressed. Whether they are Muslim themselves or not.
