Transwoman found dead in prison.

Am I alone in worrying that this may lead to more people identifying as women being allowed access to women's prisons as a result of this?

The statistics of suicide in prison are soaring, this is obviously an issue that needs addressing, but I can't help but fear that Swift's death will be used by trans lobbyists to endanger women only safe spaces.

Link for more info and see how it is already being spun by the MSM

Wolpertinger Some in fact are more than happy in their female identities getting attention from male prisoners. And then the trans prisoners in for burglary might not be happy being in with the trans sex offenders who would then be vulnerable, so need a special wing of their own still.

I suspect if trans people (and allies) were campaigning for safe spaces for trans people, employment rights, and so on, as a distinct group rather than the insistence they are the opposite sex (which many of us would fully support)... then there would end up being a stark split between the MRA style autogynaephiliacs and those with "genuine" gender dysphoria who just quietly want to get on with their lives in the best way in our gendered society.
I suppose this is why the former group don't want that.

BBCNewsRave I don't think it's an accident that the only trans person I have seen who says from a platform that "third space" prisons are a good idea is a trans man who went to prison as a young woman. I totally understand why trans men won't hold out on the "but I'm a MAN!" rhetoric once prison is on the cards. The transwomen in prison who have been in the news in the last couple of years, however, have all been convicted of violent (sometimes incredibly violent) crimes. You can see why they'd reject a third space and want to go into women's prisons - foxes in the henhouse.

"How can you 'identify' with something that no longer has a meaning?"

How can you "identify with" something you are not.

I identify as a cat.
I identify as a Victoria's Secret model (although I'm a size 10 with CS belly).
I identify as a rock.

... What do these even mean? Confused

The Guardian have done an opinion piece on this....

Funnily enough, they don't mention why she was in prison.
