I'm just - what? WTF? what is wrong with a woman who can say this, & who thinks Michelle is anything other than classy, beautiful & dignified?

“It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House. I’m tired of seeing a ape in heels”

'This is the ultimate irony of the anti-“political correctness” crusader – they say something horrendously racist and then feel victimized when they have to face consequences for their actions'

And another blinking user147!

This one is chedder flavoured.

I don't think this has anything to do with feminism or misogyny but more to do with the fact the woman who made this comment has lived all her life in a white-dominated village with a population of about 400 people.
Stop It! Seriously, stop it!
Your mentality is the reason why racism continues to flourish.

Disgusting racism. There is no excuse whatsoever
Anyone who thinks it is an isolated incident should try reading some of the comment sections on you tube. They are rife with racism, sexism and homophobia. There just seems to be an undercurrent of hatred.
On the bright side, there are plenty of people who are ready to call out and challenge these kinds of attitudes.

Funny how people can claim the moral high ground of 'free speech' to justify this rancid, racist filth. I'd have people like this banned from social media. Unfortunately it's probably not possible anymore.

Ah, the internet - what a wonderful triumph of democracy eh?

This is similar to recent twitter posts I have seen comparing Diane Abbott to Harambe the gorilla... speculating as to why on earth Jeremy Corbyn would have had a sexual relationship with someone like her.

It is horrifying to witness these racist and sexist attacks however I think these attitudes have sadly always been there but hidden away. Since Brexit and Trump the racists and misogynists have felt empowered and emboldened to spout their vile views all over public forums rather than just whispering behind hands to their like minded friends.

This reminded me of that bit in the Magician's Nephew where Uncle Andrew watches Aslan breathe life into the new world of Narnia. All the animals are given the power of speech, but Uncle Andrew is so incapable of stepping outside his mental boundaries, that he cannot hear the animals talking to him, asking him if he's an animal, vegetable or mineral; all he hears is grunts and neighs and whinnies because that's all he expects to hear and he's trapped within his own limited expectations and perceptions, leaving him unable to communicate with the animals who are trying to help him.

It is absolutely tragic that some people are so unable to transcend their racist worldview, that they are missing out on seeing the worth of their fellow human beings solely because their fellows have a different colour skin to them. It's their loss, but I can't say I feel too much sympathy for them, locked in their restricted, hateful worldview.
