Transwoman Rugby player experienced severe bullying

I thought this was an interesting blog from a transwoman athlete and her experiences of bullying from team mates and opponents. I'm concerned about transwomen entereing female sports but there's not really much being said on it, or how the TW and women in sport really feel about it or what they think.

Well Jac l name change regularly. So that was a waste of AS hey. And my thinking was why are we continually giving this so much headspace. We're doing exactly what TA wants. Getting bogged down in the ridiculous. It's biology. You have a penis you are male. You have a vagina you are female. I sometimes feel like a millionaire when l am spending money willy nilly but my thoughts and feelings don't make it so. My bank balance and biology would show if l am in fact a rich female.

Not at all Crikey. The TAs want us NOT to talk about it. People have NOT been talking about it for years and look what's happened - your daughters are in danger. We have to talk about it and this is one of the few places we CAN talk about it. So we do. And I don't really care who gets bored so long as we hammer home the message - you aren't a woman just because you feel like one. Over and over again.

I think it does deserve our headspace most assuredly.

And as for the rugby player, well, as a former rugby player who was stretchered off the pitch more than once playing against fellow XXers, all I can say is...I know a hospital pass when I see one. And the concept that a genetic male could even consider for a moment that playing against genetic females post-puberty is in any way fair is a hospital pass and a dick move of the highest order.

Bumping the thread by posting on it does seem counterproductive to getting the discussion to die down.

When FWR was getting MRA trolled, I'd go bump threads that weren't being trolled to push down any weird threads they'd started/derailed...

I think the fact TAs are so aggressively pushing for TW (even late transitioners) to be fully allowed to compete against women and girls, even in contact and fighting sports - shows they have absolutely no regard or understanding of women and girls. I just can't get my head around their insistence on this. It almost feels that they are trying to punish us and assert their (possibly) physical dominance over us.

I do think quite a lot of it is - failed at men so let's have a go at beating women. One poster recently spoke of failing 'as a man'. I wonder if that's common.

I think it's the overt and attention seeking narcissism i struggle with. None of my female aquaintances behave anything like many of the TW you see online on the likes of Twitter.
