Sorry I can't link but it's on the BBC site.

OP posts:

AyeAmarok - I don't know where people are finding this from, but I can't believe that witnesses discussing her previous sexual encounters are allowed either. I know this is often said of rape trials, but who exactly is on trial here? I'm so, so over the state virtue signalling about teh horrors of violence against women and then not just condoning it, but being an accessory to it.

Marbleheadjohnson · 12/10/2016 11:25

If she'd lost her handbag, I would guess that her phone was in it. and surely her phone records could/would have been checked in the first trial?

If these two guys saying "well we had sex with her on other occasions and she was a bit of a goer, therefore she is lying about being raped (even though she has made no accusations). And the offer of a £50,000 reward in no way influences my decision to come forward with this information" is the new evidence... I find that so depressing

Marbleheadjohnson · 12/10/2016 11:31

So he gave a statement in September 2011, but then in December 2015 gave a more detailed and specific statement about what she said during sex 4+ years earlier? After all the publicity about the case? And after the offer of a £50,000 reward was made?

11122aa · 12/10/2016 11:33

I cant see Ched being found guilty the Jury will fall for some of this quite bizarre new evidence.

JenLindleyShitMom · 12/10/2016 11:35

Sadly I agree. People are stupid. Namely, the people who allowed the retrial based on this bullshit.

StrawberrytallCake · 12/10/2016 11:36

It's not even evidence - it's totally irrelevant.

StrawberrytallCake · 12/10/2016 11:37

Who are the prosecutors?? Why aren't they asking questions other than those relating to money?

11122aa · 12/10/2016 11:38

And i hop her and and her family are preparing for safety because the trolls will be out for her and especially them if he is found not guily. ( who probably don't have new ID and therefore traceable especially as her original name has leaked a fair bit). The courts will be busy with all the namers i hope but i bet few get prosecuted

Marbleheadjohnson · 12/10/2016 11:40

Strawberry, according to the mirror updates the prosecution is asking about inconsistent statements, why they didn't raise certain things before etc. I suppose the reports only have snippets of what's being said.

StrawberrytallCake · 12/10/2016 11:46

Ah thanks Marble - will have a read of that one, I've been mostly reading twitter accounts.

11122aa · 12/10/2016 11:49

And i never knew about the Irish troll mentioned earlier on this thread. Issint it legally world wide anomality so the garda could arrest if they really wanted it.

Marbleheadjohnson · 12/10/2016 11:49

"The woman told him: “Long story short, I may have been spiked on Sunday night and attacked. I feel horrible. I don’t even want to go home. Need to see you.”

She added: “You may need to see the police because I’ve slept with you and they need to rule you out of it. Sorry about this. I feel so embarrassed.”

Surely this backs up the prosecution, not the defence? And completely blows the "she was out to nab a footballer or two to make a quick buck" completely out of the water?

imwithspud · 12/10/2016 11:50

There are so many different reports, it's a bit confusing at times. How long is left of this trial again? Does anyone know?

11122aa · 12/10/2016 11:50

And i agree with how horrible Steve Brokstein is. Horrible man, constantly being nasty about everything. The male Katie Hopkins.

11122aa · 12/10/2016 11:53

The trial started on last Tuesday and is meant to last two weeks. I imagine closing statements tomorrow or Friday then the judges summing up then verdict late Friday if they quick or next Monday/Tuesday.

imwithspud · 12/10/2016 11:54

Ive just read on Twitter that one of the witness' family members is a friend of the defence. If that is true then this case is a complete joke.

imwithspud · 12/10/2016 11:55

Thanks 111 I thought it was 2 weeks but I wasn't sure.

JenLindleyShitMom · 12/10/2016 12:00

I cannot begin to imagine what that woman is feeling right now having to go through all this and have her sexual history recounted in public. CE and his witnesses are scum for putting her through this.

Spookybitch · 12/10/2016 12:09

Just been catching up, and I feel sick. Utterly sick. The idea that a woman might say go harder to one or two or a million fucking men is enough to some people to say she can't have been raped. It's fucking disgusting.

They may not have that money in their bank accounts at the current time. But I bet they've been promised it.

And yeah "i may have been spiked on Sunday night and attacked. I feel horrible." that sounds like a consenting woman, alright...

Spookybitch · 12/10/2016 12:10

Just finished reading- that is the end of the live evidence. So those of us who were thinking there must be more: Nope. That's it- she's had sex with other men.

venusinscorpio · 12/10/2016 12:14

I've argued about rape trials in forums before and people have tried to claim that it's got better and they don't pull apart the victim's sexual history to make a dubious case that she was asking for it any more. Now I know what utter bullshit that is. This line of questioning shouldn't be allowed. They are deliberately trying to make the point that she's slept around before and after because they know it speaks to rape myths and the jury will buy it.

cadnowyllt · 12/10/2016 12:14

Ive just read on Twitter that one of the witness' family members is a friend of the defence. If that is true then this case is a complete joke.

Again, the jury need to decide how much weight to give evidence from a witness that knows the defendant (or the complainant for that matter.) Sounds like if you were a member of the jury, you would discount it completely out of hand - others might not ?

venusinscorpio · 12/10/2016 12:17

Do you think this evidence tells us anything about whether she was raped by a different man, cadno?

FreshwaterSelkie · 12/10/2016 12:19

Just finished reading- that is the end of the live evidence. So those of us who were thinking there must be more: Nope. That's it- she's had sex with other men.

Sad

Wow. Just wow. The reports of the death of rape myths have been greatly exaggerated. That poor, poor woman. And the hundreds of women who will look at this, think "bugger that" and never, ever report their rapes because they know they are not the "perfect" victim. Horrendous.

JenLindleyShitMom · 12/10/2016 12:21

If he is found not guilty based on this new evidence they are literally telling all women who have ever had sex not to bother reporting a rape because It won't count. Rape doesnt exist if you ever previously or since consented to sex. I feel sick at the thought of this verdict.
