Discreetly observing a group of one man and three women. The man is totally holding court with three (younger, natch) women gazing at him. Occasionally one interjects with a comment and Man responds. At one point one woman started talking animatedly and Man started a conversation with the woman closest to him. It's really interesting and infuriating at the same time.

I went to two large group meetings recently, both were about 80 - 85% female. One was a parents group, the other was a professional learning group.

At the end, the speaker asked for questions. In both meetings, only the men asked questions.

(The questions were fairly banal too, it was as if they were saying, hellooo, did you see, I'm here!!)

I found it really curious.

This is a widely document phenomenon isn't it? Along with the fact that if women speak for 30% of the time the male participants think that they have dominated the conversation even if said male participant has been droning on for ever
