"Intercourse/PIV is always rape, plain and simple."

I was trying to find out what piv sex meant when I came across this blog.

witchwind.wordpress.com/2013/12/15/piv-is-always-rape-ok/

I was rather taken aback by its premise.

Other quotes include:
...intercourse is NEVER sex for women...
...intercourse is inherently harmful to women and intentionally so...

Is this a commonly held view point amongst feminists? Or just the extreme radical side.

I am not posting this to be goady, if anything quite the opposite.

This is my most Shock bit
The fact intercourse causes so many infections and tears and warts attests to the unnaturalness of intercourse, that it’s not meant to be. The vagina’s primary function isn’t to be penetrated by a penis but to eject a baby for birth. They are two muscle tissues / sphincters pressed against each other to help the baby be pushed out. Penetration of the penis into the vagina is completely unnecessary for conception.

Neither of my pregnancies were conceived through sex (IVF) but both required something to be inserted into my vagina
She doesn't elaborate on what conception methods she advocates, but I'd be interested

Why the hostility Bertrand?

Many of my opinions have been changed after posting here and hearing other's pov

Immaculate conception, I would assume, sparechange. Which is pretty topical, this time of year!

CallingAllEmergencyKittens · 03/12/2015 16:45

I think she's probably had some very bad experiences.

BertrandRussell · 03/12/2015 16:46

I'm not hostile, partialderivative. But I am a little impatient. Because I honestly find it hard to believe that you really think the views in the article are "commonly held" by feminists. Come on, 'fess up. You don't really do you?

This is not a "radical feminist" view.

A radical feminist believes that the system is inherently unfair, and that the only way to make it fair is to change it entirely, i.e. radically.

Just because a view is extreme, does not mean it is the view of radical feminists!

Quodlibet · 03/12/2015 16:52

Gotta love a bit of cis piv.

Oh dear, she clearly doesn't like sex. That's a shame but if that's how she feels then that's fine. However, she doesn't speak for any other women and she certainly doesn't speak for feminists.

"PIV is a man mounting on a woman to thrust a large member of himself into her most intimate parts, often forcing her to be entirely naked, banging himself against her with the whole weight of his body and hips, shaking her like he would stuff a corpse, then using her insides as a receptacle for his penile dejection."
If that is her experience of sex, then she has my sympathy!

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 03/12/2015 16:59

This made me laugh in a rather confused way:

If we look at the act in more detail (skip this parag if you can’t take it), PIV is a man mounting on a woman to thrust a large member of himself into her most intimate parts, often forcing her to be entirely naked, banging himself against her with the whole weight of his body and hips, shaking her like he would stuff a corpse, then using her insides as a receptacle for his penile dejection. How is this a normal civilised, respectful way to treat anyone? Sorry for the explicit picture, but this is what it is and it’s absolutely revolting and violating

well quite frankly young lady its a good job your parents did this abhorrent act else you would not be here

I mean what does she want people to do for reproduction???

HermioneWeasley · 03/12/2015 16:59

Is anyone else smiling at POV on a PIV thread?

Just me?

PlaysWellWithOthers · 03/12/2015 16:59

As Joan and Buffy said, for me, it's a starting point for further conversation about the topic. I don't personally agree with much of what was said in the blog post, but, from a certain point of view, I can see how others might.

It's not a common RF view. It is a relatively common separatists view.

The woman who's blog it is sounds like she is coming from a fairly bad place in the commentary.

But Partial, you've been here long enough to know that this isn't a commonly held view, so your posting it with that question seems disingenuous somehow. Almost like you want to do some "let's point at the silly feminists and laugh" tactics to discredit the women on this part of the forum.

I'm sure you're all wide eyed wonder at how I could possibly come up with that idea. Have fun.

vimtoqueen1 · 03/12/2015 17:01

well you learn something new everyday! I didn't know what PIV was and i now know never to read that person's blog ever again - absolutely bonkers!

Garlick · 03/12/2015 17:02

I'm a common radical feminist.

The author's views on sex are bonkers.

BertrandRussell · 03/12/2015 17:04

"I'm a common radical feminist."

Ooh, can I be a posh radical feminist?[Grin]

this loon also seems to hate anyone who doesn't share her views, regarding them as contemptible. So closed mind as well as lack of basic biological knowledge. George Orwell postulated a world where sex would be regarded as 'a slightly disgusting minor operation'. She may have read that.

don't want sex? Fine, don't have it. Plenty of other hobbies out there.

I doubt anyone except the author thinks she represents feminists.

Garlick · 03/12/2015 17:07

Goes without saying, Bert.

Stimpack · 03/12/2015 17:08

The blog comments are equally insane.

partialderivative · 03/12/2015 17:08

But Partial, you've been here long enough to know that this isn't a commonly held view,

I admit that I would have been more than a little surprised if reactions had been much different to those posted.

However I stand by my statement that am not trying to be goady

ShebaShimmyShake · 03/12/2015 17:09

Welcome to the internet. It's full of nutters.

BertrandRussell · 03/12/2015 17:10

When I was a civil servant back when Whitehall were all fields, there were older Mandarins who used to write what were called "cock-shy" minutes. Oh, how we young whipper snappers laughed!

They were papers proposing extreme action which were intended to be shot down, and in the process generate debate, thought and solutions which may not otherwise have occurred to people. This blog is best regarded in the same light.

MephistophelesApprentice · 03/12/2015 17:11

This is to feminism what Isis is to Islam.

Garlick · 03/12/2015 17:11

I don't see that, Joan. Her description of PIV sounds a bit scary (or appealing, depending on mood & partner) but she didn't say "All the PIV I've done has been like rape". She said all PIV is always rape. She chose to put it that way; she chose to publish. She ain't asking for sympathy about her crap experiences, she's saying she's formed a definite and global opinion.
That opinion is bonkers.
