Feminism has ruined "guess who" for me

I was in a cafe with ds aged 4 today and there was a chest of old board games...I got Guess Who out and taught ds to play, but then realised there were only about 5 female characters compared to about 15 men. So I had to put it away in disgust. It's a shame as I was thinking I should get a new version but worried in case it's still as sexist? Anyone know?

I had never noticed this imbalance but the game always makes me laugh because I remember a friend playing it with DD (I guess she was about 6) and friend getting frustrated because DD could not get that her questions needed to be based on the pictures she could see...so instead of asking eg 'do they wear glasses?' she would ask 'have they got a pet dog? do they like ice cream? how old are they?

Actually, you can't tell which are men and women at all. It's transphobic to assume anyone's gender identity based on their appearance donchaknow? Shouldn't they have to display their pronouns?

@Danielle11: if it's so unimportant one simple request should be enough to get the manufacturers to reverse the proportions.

John Finnemore did a live version of that in his show, got about 20 people up, one was picked when he wasn't looking and he then asked questions like "do they own a dog?". It was funny how much the audience agreed when shouting the answer. I think he got down to about 3 people before making a mistake.

If it's so unimportant then there would be no problem with reversing the proportions and having a female as default one.
In fact, if there was no issue, it would already be there somewhere.

Interesting zombie thread. Who'd have thought thinking cartoon pictures of women in a game could be so controversial? Our Guess Who is 50/50 so kudos to PP if they got Hasbro to see that women are reality, not a rare characteristic.
