This is a joke right? If he had raped another man we would not have heard of it. Why? Because most men who are raped or a bused either by women or men don't report it.
This is not taking it away from the amount of women who sit in silence. We all know more women get abused and raped . We also have more refuge centres to turn to if they wanted to when they can. I would not say the same for men. Just because they are dominating in a lot of things does not mean there are no men that surfer. Rape is rape. That is how I see it.

In terms of who would be treated fairly. Most people would have laughed it off. Taken as a joke. It's a different case with young boys.

With women it depends with the media or even the police. It's had to compare because I know there are so many people who had their cases thrown out but then you do have those that the media will believe. I don't know why they do so with some and not others.

Men are more likely to report abuse than women. And report quicker and for less abuse than women.

Men can set up their own refuge centres debbriana. It is what women have had to do. And women don't always have a refuge to go to as this report from Women's Aid suggests:

• 9,577 women and 10,117 children were supported during the year through refuge accommodation by responding organisations.
• On the census day (Thursday 27 June 2013) 155 women with 103 children were turned away from the first refuge they approached by responding organisations.
• Over 82,000 women and 14,000 children were supported during the year in non-refuge services.

So that was a random day when 258 people were turned away from refuge initially. 80 out of the 185 services who responded have no dedicated funding. And this is only from those services who responded to the survey.

Why do people think that men are so incapable of setting up their own refuges and survivor networks? I am genuinely perplexed whenever I see men stating that women don't care about abused men, because there are more spaces for women. Who do they think set up the first, and indeed subsequent refuges? Magic pixies?

Women like Erin Pizzey also puzzle me. She is credited with starting the first women's refuge in the UK, now she writes for the world's largest MRE site, saying that women lie about DV and should be opening refuges for men. It makes no sense.

Last time I looked, the Govt was made up predominantly by men, FTSE100 companies are predominantly run by men, major banks, councils, charities etc, predominantly run by men. According to this wiki page, you have to look down to 25 to find a woman's name on the richest Britons list.

If men have the majority of business experience, charity experience, Governmental experience and money, why are they not funding enough refuge places for men except when they sacrifice spaces for women?

Why do all these high powered, well connected and rich men expect women to do this for their fellow men?

Strange, don't you think?

Yy puffins. And are they first turning round and saying "well, men need more access to x service but women need more access to power, influence etc so let's try and get everything in a better balance"

Not in my experience.

Yes. Being gay is taboo in men's football. Which is odd, because it is out in the open in women's football, and men's rugby, which is far more of an alpha-male type environment, in terms of in-your-face aggression and physical clashes. I think, though, that fans would have more of a problem with him being gay that the fact that he raped someone.

I think you are right, Yops, sadly.

Football is insidious. It really is awful.
