Inspired by a couple of other threads...

Cat fight
Bimbo
Glamourous (in the context of, say, Glamourous Lawyer Amal Clooney)
Maiden name (birth name is preferable, I think)
Losing of virginity (any other firsts like first house, first pay packet etc are not depicted as losses)
Busty

Open to suggestions and discussions on my choices!

Working mother. Do they say working father? No they do not.

Anyway, which mother does not work in different ways - and work very hard at that!

mypoosmellsofroses · 13/12/2014 17:01

Oh and the term WAG, your relationship is not an occupation or any other way to be identified. Have never heard HAB used in the same way.

YonicSleighdriver · 13/12/2014 17:01

"Mother of three" when used in a similar context to "glamourous" above -"mother of three Joan Dark explains how she led a shareholder bid for Acme Corp"

Pamper. Pamper, pamper, pamper. I think it was SGB who said that washing your face isn't a treat. It's such a stupid concept and the whole industry that's grown up around it (stupid bloody spas, pamper evenings at home, pamper parties, pamper parties for little girls) is so dreary.

Hamper. Hamper, hamper, hamper. It's not a hamper, it's a horrible collection of cheap tat in a receptacle of some sort. Just stop it.

If anyone had the temerity to make a Pamper Hamper, that would probably give me a massive infarction on the spot.

I recently read the book "Never Marry A Women With Big Feet:Women in Proverbs from Around the World" by Mineke Schipper.

This book gives many examples of how women are described in very negative ways. It seems so difficult for too many cultures to stop using problematic words and phrases about women.

mypoosmellsofroses · 13/12/2014 17:16

Bluestocking Do not google Pamper Hamper, there is no end of them, all pound shop bubble bath and chocolates, and erm, maybe a teddy cos thats what women like right? Hmm

trackrBird · 13/12/2014 17:29

Me time. Ugh. Imagine a bloke saying 'It's my me time.' Hmm
And I thought Career Woman/girl had long gone, but it still pops up now and then.

ocelot41 · 13/12/2014 17:32

I do quite like bubble bath...Blush

But posho stuff at least please!

Thumbnutstwitchingonanopenfire · 13/12/2014 17:34

I'll go for pamper as well. Stupid.
Pimp - as in "pimp my ride" - should be fucking pRimp you twats, a pimp is someone who sells women's bodies for money. Twats.
24/7 just gives me the unholy rage.
Misappropriation of words meaning "bad, awful" to mean "great, fantastic" - the worst being "sick" (so far, I'm sure it's now out of date and replaced by something equally inappropriate)
YOLO
Sanpro can piss off as well.

Thumbnutstwitchingonanopenfire · 13/12/2014 17:35

Going back to the pimp one - I heard Absolute Radio once do a competition for Mothers' Day called "Pimp your mum". I mean, seriously, no one bothered to check? It did make me snort with laughter at the idea, but OMG.

ocelot41 · 13/12/2014 17:37

Eurgh...

FestiveChopinLizt · 13/12/2014 17:46

To be honest

I'm not racist but

To die for

Displaying her pins..DM

SunshineBossaNova · 13/12/2014 17:47

frape

FestiveChopinLizt · 13/12/2014 17:49

Sorry, just spotted the feminist topic, so mine are not that relevant.

Mutton dressed as lamb

'Treatments' referring to completely unnecessary beauty procedures on perfectly healthy women

SconeRhymesWithGone · 13/12/2014 18:02

Great thread.

"girl" for an adult woman
"Mrs."
all ageist terms, like "old biddies"

Amethyst24 · 13/12/2014 18:03

Okay, beauty therapy can stay for the time being so long as we ritually slaughter pamper NOW.

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 13/12/2014 18:27

Related to 'displaying her pins' - "showing off her baby bump" AKA appearing in public while pregnant

Ashwagandha · 13/12/2014 18:41

Miss and Mrs

nounauthorisedparking · 13/12/2014 18:52

Did anyone say "Busy Mum" yet?

nounauthorisedparking · 13/12/2014 18:57

"You know what men are like" - in the context of a tale of complete domestic/parental inadequacy.

"He's such a boy.", when a toddler with a penis exhibits typical toddler behaviour.

FreudiansSlipper · 13/12/2014 19:17

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned

certain areas of the press love this term, yet sadly when I read about awful crimes committed out of revenge it tends to be done by men they are not scorned

mypoosmellsofroses · 13/12/2014 19:27

Can I also add Chick Lit and Chick Flick to this fiery pit for shit words?

Bluestocking · 13/12/2014 19:37

"Most women love to pamper themselves ...'
I should have heeded your warning!

FestiveChopinLizt · 13/12/2014 19:41

Ballbreaker

AnnieLobeseder · 13/12/2014 19:50

"Women's" or "female" in front of any other descriptor/noun eg women's football/rugby/cycling, female body builder/executive/bricklayer/in order to distinguish from the default of male.
