This is something like the fourth pub chat thread - please pull up a chair at the bar. Everyone welcome. Smile

Old thread is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/1920422-The-Feminist-Pub-continued?

But it's pretty much full so welcome in.

Grin Dusty tomes, yes. Dusty tomes with exciting things to say about gendered language, usually, not so much.

pacific and dusk that is awful! You must have wanted to swear at them to break down the 'nice girl' image.

I was talking about this with a couple of mates the other day, because we're all at the stage of interviewing for jobs. We also ended up talking about how you get given advice on 'confident' body language ('take up all the space in the chair; firm handshake, etc. etc.), but in women, some of this is seen as aggressive, and you're in a funny position in a job interview of trying not to be aggressive, but also to be confident.

I have just discovered that I'm not wearing the pair of jeans I thought I put on this morning. Shock

What else have I done while thinking I was doing something else? Shock Shock

I do hope you are wearing something.

I'm wearing jeans, just not the pair I thought I was wearing. Grin

kickassangel · 24/01/2014 13:50

That's like in Breaking Bad when a character looks down and sighs in exasperation and we see she's wearing shoes of the same design but one is black and one is navy.

Tis very funny Grin

Dropbox can be password protected etc - why isn't it secure enough? Are there specific protox

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 24/01/2014 17:53

Protocols you need to follow that Dropbox doesn't meet.

Can you pay to increase sharepoint capacity temporarily?

rosabud · 24/01/2014 18:01

I was going to post this on the end of the 'porn is violence' thread but I didn't want to because it might derail it and, also, I seem to put things in a way that don't get my point across very well! So I am going to post it in the safety of the pub instead. Is the poster who suggested that the OP might be "reverse trolling" saying that, on a feminist board, we should not post things that other feminists might broadly agree with? The poster seems to imply that this is a waste of time? Surely, on a feminist board, you absolutely would expect to find feminist views, wouldn't you? The poster in question seems to imply that we shuould only post things that non-feminists (or pssibly MRAs?) can tackle us on? How very odd.

Have I misunderstood that? It is Friday night and I could just be loosing the plot, I suppose...........I think I'll just sit at the bar and order a pint and listen to the wise words of others around me.......

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 24/01/2014 18:22

Rosa, fair point, I've posted on that thread. I do often disagree with that poster though.

I bet your expenses are more than a temporary capacity increase....

Logic, who needs it?

Buffy, could you use an application like Nero to split the 86 Mb into 2 files of say 45 Mb, so that you can an over lap of data to show continuity? That way you could send it in 2 Sharepoint blocks? This used to be possible, don't know if it is still, as I understand that Nero has changed a fair bit since I last used it round at Fred Flinstone's house to edit my band's laughable CD.

Camomile tea, please. I'm trying to go softly softly on another thread and need to stay calm...
